12:30 – GINTINI

has shown just modest form in six starts to date and yet this is such a weak race that she appeals as very much the one to beat on these terms. She was beaten less than five lengths in a nursery at Lingfield last time and the way she shaped there (prominent before fading late on) suggests the drop back to six furlongs will be in her favour with Hollie Doyle taking over in the saddle.

13:00 – STAR OF EPSOM

was well on top at the finish when finally getting off the mark at Lingfield in November, quickening to lead close home and looking value for more than the official winning margin of three quarters of a length. That form puts her right in the mix here and it looks a good opportunity for her to follow up if stripping fitter with that first run for 10 months under her belt.

13:30 – MARINARA

stepped up on her debut form when last seen filling the runner-up spot at Chantilly in November, sticking to her task well to pass the post less than two lengths behind the winner. The first two pulled clear of the rest and just a repeat of that effort may suffice in this maiden as the top-rated Marinara tries to open her account at the third attempt.

14:00 – TRIGGERED

returned to form in a change of headgear (visor replacing blinkers) when finding one too good at Southwell last time, showing enough to suggest he could be ready to take advantage of his falling mark. Beaten a little over a length, he is far from guaranteed to be in the same form this time, but it’s worth giving him the benefit of the doubt from a BHA mark of 62, fully 13 lb lower than when registering his last victory at Lingfield in June 2021.

14:30 – RESILIENT POWER

produced a career best to get off the mark at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago, hitting the front two furlongs out and always doing enough from there to land the spoils by half a length. This will be tougher from a 4 lb higher mark, but he’s looked an improved model since being gelded and it’s not out of the question that he may yet have more offer now tackling a mile for the first time.

15:00 – CHOLA EMPIRE

wasn’t seen to best effect when fourth on his latest outing at Wolverhampton, never threatening to get seriously involved having been caught further back than ideal. He is better judged on the form he showed when filling the runner-up spot at this course the time before, running on late to pass the post less than two lengths behind the winner. He is 1 lb lower in the weights today and looks the one to beat if the step up to a mile can eke out a bit more improvement.

15:30 – REECELTIC

probably should have won when suffering a narrow defeat at Lingfield last time, doing well under the circumstances to be beaten just a head having conceded first run to the winner in a steadily-run race. He remains potentially well treated up 1 lb and should mount a bold bid to go one place better, particularly if getting a stronger gallop to aim at.
