12:15 – Animore

Her 111-day absence is a slight concern but ANIMORE ran well in defeat at Kelso in September and, with today’s slower ground also suitable, she might be the answer. Low-mileage 7yo Garde Des Champs got his career back on track with a good effort in November and will be dangerous if handling today’s slower ground. Les’s Legacy needs to transfer his 2m Hexham form to this very different C&D but is also considered.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

12:45 – Jem In Em

Several have possibilities but JEM IN EM looks the one to beat, the form of his hurdling debut having been boosted when the winner followed up last week. Community Rebel should be suited by today’s step up in distance and may confirm his Kelso superiority over Ballyporeen. Shadows In The Sky, an easy Irish point winner, is another to consider.

13:15 – Parliament Hill

Notlongtillmay arguably won with a bit more authority than the 1l margin suggests on his chasing debut in November and he makes significant appeal here, but slight preference is for the other last-time-out Wetherby winner PARLIAMENT HILL, who also has considerable scope for further progress over today’s longer trip.

13:45 – Creative Control (NAP)

Massini Man started off for Sandy Thomson with two good runs over 2m4f here in November and could quite easily have more to offer for the stable if today’s longer trip suits but CREATIVE CONTROL (NAP) doesn’t look harshly treated with a 6lb rise for last month’s comfortable C&D win and he might still have untapped potential over 3m. The dark horse is Gris Gris Top, who was placed in two maiden hurdles in 2021 and now makes his chase/handicap debut after a long absence.

14:15 – Scots Poet

Russian Virtue bolted up at Newcastle last month and is still unexposed over hurdles but today’s slower ground may not be ideal and this might be fought out by SCOTS POET and Smart Lass. Both ran well in a higher-grade C&D contest four weeks ago and they are closely matched on that form but the vote goes to Ewan Whillans’ runner, who has fewer miles on the clock.

14:45 – Arthurs Quay

Ex-Irish 9yo who looked back in prime form when winning readily by 8l at Catterick (1m7f, soft) on Wednesday, ARTHURS QUAY‘s third start for Ben Haslam; obvious contender under 7lb penalty if in similar mood here.

15:15 – Act Of Authority

The most interesting runner is ACT OF AUTHORITY, who changed hands for big money after his winning Irish point debut in March and now represents a stable that does very well in bumpers. Kelso winner Kingston Bridge may not be straightforward but sets a fairly good standard of rules form and is second choice. Easter Junction and Florida Dreams are also likely candidates.
