This looks a very good opportunity for MASTER CHEWY who is unlucky to still be a maiden over hurdles. Hansard impressed at Huntingdon but he’ll do well to concede the weight to the selection on this softer ground. Prince Imperial should also have some say.
13:30 – Twinjets
The Milton Harris-trained TWINJETS had to work hard to land the odds in a Leicester maiden last time but he was strong at the finish and this point winner could have a lot more to offer back over this stiffer stamina test. He gets the vote in his bid to make it 4-5 under rules. Park This One made it 2-3 over hurdles when winning at Catterick yesterday and has strong claims if taking his chance here. Others to keep an eye on are Alan King’s Aldsworth and the hurdling newcomer Haston Clermont.
14:00 – Doireann
Getaway Tom could be a lively one on his handicap debut, with his latest Hereford effort looking better now after the horse who finished ahead of him won well at Warwick on Saturday. However, preference is for DOIREANN, whose Fakenham effort was also given a boost over the weekend, and her assured stamina for this trip will come in handy.
14:30 – Tip Top Mountain
Last year’s winner TIP TOP MOUNTAIN looked on good terms with himself when making a successful return at Fontwell and can follow up. Le Coeur Net (second choice) and Sublime Heights could run well if revived by their new headgear.

You wouldn’t put it past Nearly Perfect to win again after a lengthy absence but there are safer options. PEMBERLEY (NAP) bypassed the big staying handicap chase at Newbury on Saturday to wait for this, a race in which he finished runner-up last year. I See You Well is always a solid proposition around here.
15:30 – Pilsdon Pen
An interesting race in which the vote goes to Jeremy Scott’s improver PILSDON PEN, who made it 3-5 in hurdle handicaps when scoring at Exeter on his seasonal return in November. Saligo Bay has a solid record in this sphere and he’s feared most, ahead of Vazir who travelled well for a long way before finishing a creditable third at Taunton last month. The other one on the shortlist is Mr Freedom, who could resume his progress back in calmer waters on his handicap hurdle debut.
