HIGHLAND GETAWAY falls in that category and Jamie Brace’s 7lb claim is welcomed. Samatian got upset heading to the start at Taunton last week (withdrawn) but he’s usually a reliable proposition. Bashers Reflection and Lucky Bounce are next on the list.

The four hurdle winners have all shaped as if they are pretty useful at the least, so this promises to be a strong race. KATEIRA faces a major step up in trip but has arguably looked the most exciting prospect. Victorias Peak and Presenting A Queen have strong form but improvement from the Lingfield winner Felicie Du Maquis may outdo them, while Walk Of No Shame looked interesting with her strong finish to grab a Warwick bumper.
13:00 Templier (NAP)
An encouraging reappearance at Fakenham should have put TEMPLIER (nap) spot on for this, a race he won with ease 12 months ago off 2lb lower (without taking into account Jay Tidball’s claim). Starvoski looks a danger after running her best race yet over fences at Ffos Las. Unit Sixtyfour is another player and watch out for any confidence behind Miss McGugen.
13:35 One Fer Mamma
With further rain forecast, conditions ought to be ideal for bottomweight ONE FER MAMMA, who was a convincing C&D winner on heavy ground last season and ran well for a long way on last month’s reappearance. He gets the nod ahead of handicap debutant Lord Snootie, who moves up from 2m3f and is open to significant improvement. Last Quarter has scope to progress from last month’s Lingfield win and is next on the list, while C&D winner Potters Hedger will be very dangerous off his current mark if able to stage a revival.
14:10 Go Steady
Preference is for Dan Skelton’s GO STEADY, who made it 6-15 over fences when forging clear at Lingfield four weeks ago and is a major player again if he copes with this step back up to 3m. Smuggler’s Blues had a narrow lead when he fell two out at Wincanton last time and he’s feared most, ahead of Midinight Moss, who was a creditable second at Doncaster on his recent return.

This looks a bit tricky but it might be worth sticking with five-time chase winner GENEROUS DAY, who got back in the groove with a front-running win at Southwell last month and remains well treated on his best form. Second choice is Mister Watson, who might have won on his chase/seasonal debut at Bangor but for a bad mistake at the last. The ex-French 5yo Mot Pour Mot looks interesting on his first run for Kim Bailey, while Neil Mulholland’s chase debutant Conkwell Legend also needs watching in the market on his comeback.
15:20 Masaccio
Paul Nicholls’ newcomer Don’t Tell Su is out of a well-connected mare and could be anything but a chance is taken on the fitness of MASACCIO, who went close in what has turned out to be a strong Ayr bumper in April 2021. Bowenspark created a good impression on his debut, while Katate Dori should build upon his promising Cheltenham run.
