Cheltenham 13.20 Monmiral

Happy New Year! ITV Sunday starts here with a Grade 2 novice chase over an extended 2m4f. MONMIRAL really should be too classy for this field and at the age of six should have more to come. The Paul Nicholls runner has always had the make a shape of a chaser and as a hurdler was pretty classy with a second to Epatante at Aintree. His chase debut behind Jonbon at Warwick was far from a disgrace.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Musselburgh 13.35 – Baron De Midleton

ITV also go to Musselburgh Sunday for this handicap chase over an extended 2m4f. This is tricky. BARON DE MIDLETON is not a handicap snip or anything but conditions are ideal for a good run for Brian Ellison with Patrick Wedge taking off a useful 7lb. He wasn’t on board when the horse ran a fair second at Sedgefield last time but there was a conditional on top who also took off 7lb. Each way claims.

Cheltenham 13.55 – Happygolucky

A big betting race in a handicap chase over an extended 2m4f. A wide open betting heat. There is always a chance of the bounce factor for HAPPYGOLUCKY who returned with a really good third at Newcastle after a long lay off. That was behind L’Homme Presse and Into Overdrive who have both franked the form. He stays well and while he needs a career best if he’s ready to go I reckon he’s got a cracking chance for David Bass and Kim Bailey.

Cheltenham 14.30 – Brewin’upastorm (each way)

The Grade 2 Relkeel Hurdle over an extended 2m4f. These are closely matched in a cracker. BREWIN’UPASTORM has form at Cheltenham of F4UF which does not bode well. That said the fourth was a corker in the Ballymore, and the two Fs should arguably have been two wins. Getting weight from a few of these he really does have every chance. He’s not one to rely on totally but at his best an each way chance at decent odds for Aidan Coleman and Olly Murphy.

Musselburgh 14.45 – First Impression (each way)

A handicap hurdle over nearly 2m. FIRST IMPRESSION only just gets 2m over jumps and will need to be at his best to score for John Quinn and Billy Garrity. That said ran a decent enough fourth at Cheltenham two runs ago and has form here. Each way again.

Cheltenham 15.05 – Wilde About Oscar

A handicap hurdle over 3m. WILDE ABOUT OSCAR has not always looked like he’s a natural stayer, but he kept on really well at Sundown last time and should have an each way chance here for the Skelton team of trainer Dan and jockey Harry. He’s well handicapped and might have more to offer.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
