Trojan Horse is a respected rival and the best of the hurdling newcomers might be State Legend, who was pretty decent on the Flat. However, BLUEKING D’OROUX reached a fair level over hurdles in France and he’s clearly a lot better than he showed when the disappointing favourite in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham on his British debut.

Timeforatune sets the standard but he is by no means bombproof and there are some interesting rivals. Great Samourai makes some appeal but TIGHTENOURBELTS showed more than enough at Chepstow to suggest he can go close.

Chasing newcomer Mahon Point makes some appeal as does last month’s C&D winner Kayf Hernando (second choice), but it may well pay to side with KAKAMORA (nap) in the belief that cheekpieces and a step up in distance will elicit a little improvement.

She’s A Saint could take some catching while Credrojava (second choice) is a fascinating contender stepping up in class. LUTINEBELLA’s Exeter win has been franked by the runner-up and she edges the vote.
14:45 Iberio
Plenty to consider including Apple Rock (second choice), the very progressive The Changing Man and last year’s runner-up Time To Tinker. In the hope he’ll be well suited by the step up to 3m, IBERIO is taken to gain a third course win.

Last year’s winner Kingsmill Gin can make a bold bid and looks the main threat to LUCKELLO, who has something to prove on her chasing debut but will have strong claims if able to show her pointing form.

An open finale. Last year’s winner Karakoram and Couldbeaweapon are solid propositions but FAME AND FUN chased home decent novices here last time and it’s easy to envisage a bold show in his first handicap. Ailes D’Amour is another to note back on goodish ground.
