12:00 – Ballykeel

BALLYKEEL has shaped well on each of his three starts over fences, notably so at Thurles 11 days ago, his jumping much more assured but he wasn’t subjected to a hard ride, and he makes plenty of appeal switched to handicaps for the first time from what may turn out to be a lenient mark. His stablemate Arctic Ambition is open to further improvement back over fences and Gateau de Miel is respected back in handicap company having readily opened his account in a novice at Fairyhouse last time.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

12:35 – Embassy Gardens

EMBASSY GARDENS pulled well clear of the remainder when chasing home Itswhatunitesus (who has won again since) on return at Cork and, with improvement likely now upped in trip, he is taken to go one better for his powerful yard. It’s interesting that Paul Townend is aboard Madmansgame rather than the selection (the betting will be informative in terms of the perceived pecking order) but, as things stand Tag Man, whose yard has landed this five times since 2012, is feared most. Bumper winner Search For Gold is also of interest in what should prove an informative race.

13:10 – Queens Brook

QUEENS BROOK is a smart hurdler who got right back on track when scoring readily in a listed event at Punchestown last time, clearly having come on plenty for her seasonal reapprarance, and she’s marginally preferred despite a penalty to fellow last-time-out winner Shewearsitwell, who is well worth her place at this level. They are entitled to dominate this race on form, though Copper Nation is probably the pick of the remainder.

13:45 – Three Stripe Life

Mighty Potter won’t take his chance here, but stablemate THREE STRIPE LIFE actually started favourite ahead of him in the Drinmore last time and could be the one to beat. He was a Grade 1 winner over hurdles last season and made a very impressive start over fences. He was well supported last time and was still travelling well when a mistake at the eighth fence forced his rider to pull him up. The step up to three miles should be perfect for him now and he is expected to make amends here. Gaillard du Mesnil, who ran a cracker on return when runner-up in the Drinmore, looks the obvious danger.

14:20 – State Man

Willie Mullins holds a strong hand and the classy STATE MAN is fancied to continue his progress and hold off his younger stablemate Vauban. The latter was an impressive winner of the Triumph Hurdle last season, but faces a tough task up against his older stablemate who is match fit and is proving most progressive. The third of his representatives, Sharjah, was comfortably held by the selection last time but is likely to be closer to his best now as he seeks a fifth straight win in this Grade 1.

14:55 – Green Glory

GREEN GLORY has caught the eye on a couple of occasions recently, particularly last time when not given a hard time in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown, and might be worth siding with now making his handicap debut, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Gaoth Chuil took a step forward to get off the mark in maiden company last time and looks on a favourable opening mark so she’s feared most ahead of Henry de Bromhead’s Navan winner Spirit of Legend.

15:25 – Lecky Watson

Willie Mullins is taken to land a third successive win in this race courtesy of LECKY WATSON. This four-year-old lost a race in the stewards’ room at Punchestown last time but that means he escapes a penalty here and he can take full advantage of the 7 lb he receives from the previous winners in the line-up. The Gordon Elliott-trained pair King of Kingsfield and Caldwell Potter may give him most to do.
