11:53 Camp Belan
In an open race, CAMP BELAN is taken to follow up last month’s C&D win. Glittering Love and Smackwater Jack are two others likely to run well.

12:28 Schalke (NAP)
Cases can be made for a few of these but top of the list is SCHALKE (nap), who is untested on heavy ground but ran a big race in defeat on soft this month and is not yet fully exposed. Progressive mare Charm Offensive is yet to win away from Ayr but she may still have more improvement to come and is feared most, ahead of handicap debutant Inis Oirr.
13:03 Jetoile
Course specialist Cedar Hill is back on the same mark as when winning this race on heavy ground a year ago and he ought to be a very tough nut to crack but JETOILE has a touch of class about him and gets the verdict. Donny Boy shaped with considerably more promise than his eventual 31l defeat might suggest on his chasing debut in October and today’s drop back in trip could be a good move.
13:38 Ned Tanner
In this competitive novices’ handicap, last-time-out winners Bill Baxter and Old Painless (preferred in that order) are both ahead of the handicapper. However, NED TANNER is perhaps fortunate to have escaped with just a 1lb rise for this month’s 2m7f course win and he might be the answer. Brayhill is also considered, while it will be interesting to see whether Dan Skelton’s unexposed mare Wild Romance can build upon last month’s reappearance run.
14:13 Hitching Jacking
Imperial Merlin has made an impressive start to his hurdling career and cannot be opposed with any confidence but he may find it tough to concede 5lb to Uttoxeter winner HITCHING JACKING, who also looks useful. De Legislator has a fair bit to find with those two if judged on the bare form of his small-field Hexham win but his Irish point form makes him of significant interest.

14:48 Traprain Law
This will probably be fought out by the three hurdle winners in the field. C&D handicap winner TRAPRAIN LAW is unpenalised for his success and probably has the best form to boot, so he makes plenty of appeal. That said, Fortescue Wood and Carcaci Castle (preferred in that order) both still have significant potential.
15:20 Phillapa Sue
Dan Skelton’s mare Missed Tee needed only two attempts to open her account under rules and has plenty of scope for further improvement but slight preference is for the proven handicap form of PHILLAPA SUE, who drew nicely clear to score at Hereford last month. Corey’s Courage was about 18l behind the selection last time but may have benefited from that outing and is next on the list.
