Horse Racing Tips: Matt Chapman’s best bets for Wednesday’s ITV racing

Matt's been in blistering form this week and here's his Wednesday wagers.

Matt Chapman’s ITV Racing Tips

13:10 Leopardstown – Maze Runner
13:45 Leopardstown – Flooring Porter
14:20 Leopardstown – A Plus Tard
14:35 Leicester – Playful Saint
14:55 Leopardstown – Grand Roi
15:10 Leicester – Arrivederci (each way)

13:10 Leopardstown – Maze Runner

ITV Racing Wednesday gets under way here with a handicap hurdle over 3m. MAZE RUNNER would not be the strongest stayer over this trip, but he’s not badly handicapped and his runs over much shorter recently suggest he has the ability to go close off his current mark. A second at Galway was a fine effort as was an effort when seventh at Naas last time. He’s not been disgraced at all at the Cheltenham Festival in the past. Goes for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend at decent odds.

13:45 Leopardstown – Flooring Porter

The is the Grade 1 Jack de Bromhead Christmas Hurdle over 3m. FLOORING PORTER disappointed on his return but the Stayers’ Hurdle hero is a class act at a peak and will be hard to peg back here if producing his best form. The Gavin Cromwell runner, ridden by Danny Mullins, has to turn around recent Navan form with Home by the Lee, Bob Olinger and Ashdale Bob but he has the ability to do so.

14:20 Leopardstown – A Plus Tard

Another Grade 1 here in the Savills Chase over 3m. A PLUS TARD, the Gold Cup hero, is easily the most talented in the field and will be hard to stop if anywhere near his best. Of course, my hope flopped badly at Haydock when last seen when he was said to be ill and was very weak in the market went four hours before the race. You just have to forget that and hope he returns to his best under Rachael Blackmore for Henry de Bromhead.

14:35 Leicester – Playful Saint

ITV also go to Leicester Wednesday for two races including this handicap hurdle over nearly 2m. This is poor stuff. I’m sticking with the to-weight PLAYFUL SAINT for trainer Dan and jockey Harry Skelton. My selection has been running in good company at Sandown and Chepstow on his last two starts and the opposition looks pretty out of form.

14:55 Leopardstown – Grand Roi

A beginners chase over 2m5f. GRAND ROI fell at Fairyhouse last time but is a quality hurdler and should be able to land this with a clear round. Stamina is no issue and he had shown promise over fences at Listowel in September even though beaten at odds on for Gordon Elliott. Jack Kennedy takes the ride.

15:10 Leicester – Arrivecerci (each way)

A handicap chase over 2m4f. ARRIVEDERCI has not been in great form recently for the Jonjo O’Neill team but this is a good chance under a handicapped mark that has been slipping. Hopefully he can take advantage of a mark of just 124 having been as high as 139 at one stage. An each way chance.

So best of luck and pray for Christmas Yeeehaaas! You hear me Paddy?
