12:15 Regal Renaissance

Breaking Waves, Haas Boy, Tune The Chello and Getaweapon (respected in that order) are of interest but the 4yo filly REGAL RENAISSANCE could be dangerous. It’s probably best to put a line through what happened on her handicap debut at Sedgefield and her previous run here in a fair maiden was full of promise.

12:45 Jaminska

The suggestion is the well-related JAMINSKA who was the sole filly in the field when beaten by a well-touted newcomer on her debut in a Huntingdon bumper. Imperial Jade also made a pleasing start in her bumper and she’s second choice, though it will be interesting to see what the market makes of the four newcomers, with Jina very much one to note for her leading stable.

13:15 Frenchy Du Large

Bobhopeornohope is always to be feared at Ludlow and there were plenty of positives to take from Ascot but, from his demanding mark, he might prove vulnerable when it matters. A chance is taken that FRENCHY DU LARGE can produce a clear round, as on his day he’s a progressive chaser who retains untapped potential as a stayer. Guy continues to frustrate but the cheekpieces look a good move.

13:50 Touchy Feely

Not many of these are likely to count. TOUCHY FEELY readily kept La Gomera at bay at Doncaster and, while the runner-up could make it interesting with a 6lb pull, Nicky Henderson’s scopey mare is taken to follow up. Minniemum is very much a work in progress but this longer trip will suit her down to the ground.

14:20 Flann

The unexposed 7yo FLANN won a warm little race at Leicester last month and can defy a 5lb rise. Jobesgreen Lad is prone to making jumping errors but he made it 3-7 over fences when winning at Hereford last month and he’s feared most, ahead of Out The Glen.

14:50 Gumball (NAP)

With a strong pace on the cards, this could set up a treat for GUMBALL (nap). He perhaps should have won this last year off a 6lb higher mark and a recent wind operation could be significant after he flattered to deceive in a stronger race at Ascot last month. The Widdow Maker would ideally prefer further but he should be running on and seems in better form than most. Desque De L’Isle has plenty more on his plate than last time.

15:25 Pembroke

The Dan Skelton-trained PEMBROKE won in good style at Wetherby four weeks ago on his second hurdles start and is taken to defy a 6lb penalty. There are several dangers, however, notably Amrons Sage who was second of 17 at Warwick last month on his first run for Nicky Henderson. Previous hurdle winners No Risk With Lou and Western Zephyr are respected.
