Galaxy Gazer ran her best race yet when second at Kempton three weeks ago and she is a key player in receipt of 9lb from MAHARAJAS EXPRESS. Richard Spencer’s 2yo did win with a bit up his sleeve on his debut though and may be able to maintain his unbeaten record.

Most of these are not easy to predict and this looks a bit tricky but it might be worth siding with EVOLICATT, who recorded her second win when landing a Redcar claimer on her penultimate run and has leading claims if she can recapture that form. The topweight Bonnsie has a record of 211 on Polytrack and she’s feared most on her return to this surface, although Do It For Love wasn’t beaten far in a Lingfield nursery last time and has possibilities if she gets a good pace to aim at.
18:30 – Scramble
Giant achieved enough at Newmarket on debut to think he could play a big part in this weaker event and he is high on the shortlist. SCRAMBLE ran well at Kempton last week though and she can confirm those placings with the reopposing Bonkersinabundance.

19:00 – Ivatheengine
A trappy handicap despite the small field. Barging Thru has a good record fresh and needs taking seriously back from six months off, while G’daay has a fine C&D record and Lord Rapscallion, Maysong and Windseeker all ran well last time. IVATHEENGINE has more to prove given his long absence but he has plenty of ability and he remains capable of better over this trip. The handicapper has given him a chance too, returning just 1lb higher than for his good win at Newbury when last seen.
19:30 – Araifjan
A small field1 but competitive all the same. Come On Girl (second choice) is handicapped to win and comes here in good form, while Pandemic Princess will be a danger to all if reproducing the form she showed on her stable debut last month. Alafdhal narrowly got the better of ARAIFJAN over C&D 11 days ago but the selection had been softened up a bit by the time Alafdhal challenged and the placings may be reversed today.
20:00 – Weydaad
This looks a bit trappy but the vote goes to WEYDAAD, who showed clear promise with her 80-1 third behind two of the market leaders at Kempton 12 days ago. She takes a big drop in trip but this well-bred filly is out of a 6f winner in Japan and could be a major force if she can build on that debut run. The main threat could come from Let Em Have It, who made a bold bid in a 7f handicap last time and looks interesting on his return to sprinting.
20:30 – Three Dragons (NAP)
Preference is for Matt Crawley’s THREE DRAGONS (NAP), who returned from a long absence with a stylish win at Wolverhampton and is a major player again if he can back that up off only 3lb higher here. Second choice is six-time Polytrack winner Capricorn Prince, who ran into plenty of trouble at Lingfield last time and could bounce back with a big run on his drop back in trip. Dual C&D winner Estrela Star could be dangerous if this sets up for his closing style, while another to consider is Red Derek.
