Being just 1lb higher than when making a successful handicap debut over C&D last time Wizarding has to be respected, especially as he remains open to further improvement. However, preference is for FULL INTENTION who did it easily when dropped to this level at Chelmsford six days ago. A 4lb penalty shouldn’t be enough to prevent a follow-up. Revolutionary Man and Winnetka look best of the others.

The extra yardage could unlock more from Bonkersinabundance in a race which isn’t overly competitive. However, she’s shown her best form on turf so far, and for that reason alone Eve Johnson Houghton’s LADY OF ARABIA is the preferred option. She finished well in advance of today’s rivals Sister of Thor, Sexy Rexy and Movie Night when chasing home an odds-on favourite at Wolverhampton in October.
16:30 – Saint George
A potentially enlightening Kempton novice with Clan Chieftain and SAINT GEORGE both holding Derby entries. The selection has a most attractive pedigree, with the speed for 1m-1m2f (by Roaring Lion) and a strong stamina influence from his Listed-placed 1m5f winning dam. Godolphin’s Postman’s Park promises to be a worthy adversary with the benefit of C&D experience.
17:00 – Hadley Park
While at least half the field have very plausible each-way claims, HADLEY PARK may be the one to emerge on top. He very nearly did so in both his nurseries, losing out by a short head at Wolverhampton last time. The Johnston stable had the winner of that race and may provide the chief threat today with handicap newcomer Blue Universe. Next on the list are Corsican Caper and Emperor Zen.
17:30 – Florida
The market should provide clues as regards the newcomers, but the two previous runnings of this race went to a horse with experience. Al Alaali and Zafaan have both shown enough to suggest they can play a part, but despite his wide draw the vote goes to FLORIDA who improved from his debut when fifth of 14 here last time. His breeding suggests he is still capable of much more.

18:00 – Hickory (NAP)
Granary Queen (second choice) comes here on the up and has to enter calculations, Got No Dollars would be of major interest from a better draw and Global Warning lurks on a dangerous mark. This will tell us more about HICKORY‘s (NAP) ability than his easy C&D win seven weeks ago but as a well-bred and unexposed handicap debutant from a yard that excel with this type there are good grounds for thinking he can prove up to the task.
18:30 – Alcazan
Algheed and Rattling can go well at this level but the two to make most appeal are ALCAZAN and Trusty Rusty. Marginal preference is for the former, who continues to progress with racing and already has a C&D win on her record.
