This looks wide open but if Tony Carroll can get MUMAYAZ back on song, then he’s got himself a well-handicapped youngster who was effective under these conditions in Ireland. Kath’s Toyboy was never nearer than at the finish at Southwell last time out and he’s not had many chances over this longer distance.

12:12 – Shikova

Given that she bled from the nose, SHIKHOVA didn’t run at all badly at Ascot in May and she could be the answer in a first-time hood. Market confidence would be welcomed after so long out, a comment that also applies to the respected pair of Samba Lady and Molly Valentine (feared in that order). Vasilissa could also leave her Newbury run on soft ground well behind.

12:42 – Huberts Dream

Impressive when landing a gamble from the front over 7f here 12 days ago, and again over C&D last week, it’s hard to get away from HUBERTS DREAM despite a 9lb higher mark. Geralt Of Rivia is preferred to Royal Mariner for the forecast spot.

13:12 – Parisiac

None of the six can be discounted in a trappy sprint and a chance is taken on PARISIAC, who ran well first time out last season and this for Bryan Smart and who’s had a nice break since last seen. Pop Dancer and Harb are closely matched on latest C&D running, while Mick’s Spirit has had excuses since the blinkers went on.

13:42 – Giorgio Vasari

He does have a bit to prove on Polytrack but GIORGIO VASARI makes plenty of appeal otherwise after his decisive win at Wolverhampton on Friday. Aurelia Gold didn’t do herself justice on her stable debut and she’s second choice ahead of Chagall.

14:20 – Recuerdame (NAP)

River Chorus was always well placed when winning at Wolverhampton on Friday and preference is for RECUERDAME (nap), who looks a good bet to give his running. The likelihood of a solid gallop will help. Watch out for any confidence behind the handicap debutante Cazcade.

14:50 – No Such Luck

Very much a case of choose your poison. Stormingin has always found winning tough, Gold Standard stays 2m and will want a good test over this trip round here, Uther Pendragon is on a long losing run and My Lady Claire has been absent for ten months. There are risks involved with NO SUCH LUCK too, with him more likely than not to have issues at the stalls and/or pull hard, but he’s capable of winning off this mark if things fall his way.

15:20 – Persian Wolf

Come To Pass had Laurentia and the wide-drawn Hot Day behind when winning over C&D 13 days ago. There’s not much to choose between the trio on revised terms and the temptation is to look elsewhere, with last Thursday’s Chelmsford winner PERSIAN WOLF fancied to follow up off a mark effectively 4lb higher.
