A low-grade handicap but a fascinating contest nonetheless. Diamond Jill, Eagle Eyed Freddie, City Escape and Pink Jazz all have the form to play a leading role, while Satellite Call is open to further progress and should appreciate this step up in trip. For all their claims, the really interesting runner is CICELY (nap). She won three times over C&D early in the year (the only three wins for her previous stable in 2022) and she makes her debut for Kevin Philippart De Foy off a very tempting mark.

Turbo Tiger was ahead of three of these here on Monday but there’s reason to believe that MY KIND OF GIRL and Remunerator will improve on their efforts. Carlotta hasn’t progressed but still needs respecting following a change of stable.
16:50 Ahlawi
Pocket The Profit was all the rage in the betting here last week and went close to rewarding the support. He’ll doubtless be popular again despite his 3lb rise, while Abbey Heights is a sprinter firmly on the up but he may have other pace to contend with today. Intervention is better drawn than on his last two starts and can go well, while Rattling (second choice) still looks to be improving and these conditions bring out the best in her. AHLAWI ran on well in the closing stages to win here 12 days ago and although this is a better race, he could have more in the tank after just 12 starts.

Marie Laveau sets the standard and she should be better suited by today’s trip than the 7f she has tackled in her two promising turf runs. She’s greatly respected, while Credit Note and Tarjamah are newcomers of note, but SWITCHEL might be the answer. Hughie Morrison’s well-bred filly should have learned a lot from her recent Lingfield debut and there was sufficient promise there to earn her the vote.
17:50 Jilly Cooper
It will be interesting to see how Manaafith fares back on the AW given that she was 3-3 on Polytrack before finishing last in a Newmarket Listed event. Shining Al Danah may appreciate the return to 7f while Queen Of Burgundy would be a threat to all if enjoying an uncontested lead, but it may be best to side with JILLY COOPER. She proved her effectiveness here when dead-heating over C&D in October and has run well in both starts at Chelmsford in the meantime.
18:20 Bird For Life
Smart Boyo has a good run in him on his best staying efforts but perhaps BIRD FOR LIFE will overcome her usual slow start, as she did twice in October, and add to an already solid course record. King Charles may be the biggest danger but Step To The Top ought to have some potential on her bumper form now she goes handicapping off a lowly mark.
18:50 My Brother Mike
This is open and two of the more interesting runners Harbour Vision and MY BROTHER MIKE have wide draws to negotiate. The latter has had a difficult year but he looked in good heart at Newcastle recently and his best C&D form off higher marks stands up well. Inexplicable looks sure to be involved after his good recent win here, Local Bay goes well fresh and Four Notes for her new yard are others to consider.
