13:09 Newcastle – Broctune Red (Karl Hedley)
BROCTUNE RED is a six-time C&D winner who has made the frame in seven of his ten starts since his latest success in March. Ran well when second of 14 over 1m2f here last month, but the return to this trip won’t hurt. One for the shortlist from the same mark, albeit he is one of a few in here who could do with a solid pace to aim at.
15:28 Newcastle – Blazing Son (Fortunatus)
BLAZING SON is a reliable sprinter who comes here chasing a hat-trick after ready wins at Redcar and C&D. 4lb rise for last time doesn’t look excessive as he had the race in safe keeping some way out. Up in class but high on the list.
16:50 Wolverhampton – Rattling (Dean Kilbryde)
All three of RATTLING’s career wins have come over C&D, the latest of them last month off 4lb lower. Solid effort at Southwell on Tuesday and she looks booked for another big run.
17:50 Wolverhampton – Jilly Cooper (Postdata)
JILLY COOPER has been kept busy since returning in April and has won twice, latterly when dead-heating over C&D in October. Has run well in both starts at Chelmsford in the meantime and should make her presence felt with conditions no problem.
