WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:50 Electric Annie

The booking of jockey Harry Cobden is eye-catching as he has won twice on this mare, Electric Annie. She jumped quite well at Kempton, she is not badly handicapped and some of her best form has come with guaranteed pace like she’ll get here. I think the race could just play out to suit my selection. Hawthorn Cottage, on the back of a very easy win at Warwick, is the danger.

FANCY A CHANCE TO WIN £/€75K?

14:25 Captain Cattistock

Eva’s Oskar is definitely a player after the run at the track last time. That form has a real look to it but Captain Cattistock is the one I have gone for. He has won over course and distance, the ground doesn’t matter to him, and Fergal O’Brien will feel he has come forward from his last run at the track. Liam Harrison rides again and he is still able to claim 3lbs off his back.

15:00 Anyharminasking

Mullenbeg has been a bit of a winning machine since bumping into Queens Gamble here in April. She has to be on the shortlist, but I have gone for Anyharminasking. He is the only horse to beat Constitution Hill but was disappointing last weekend at Huntingdon. However, that right-handed track is not preferable whereas, going left-handed at Cheltenham, he has to be a player in here. He finished that race off really well despite hanging very badly left.

15:35 Captain Morgs

Captain Morgs is a quirky individual. If he would only stop messing around he would have won more races by now but he is talented. The wind operation has worked and the form of his second at Kempton got a boost when Call Me Lord was unlucky at Sandown last weekend. Dusart is the class act in here and it would not be a surprise to see this son of Fleminsfirth win. It’s a tough ask to give that much weight away in his first run of the season. So, for that reason, I am going for the Captain but there is no doubt who’s the better horse.
