12:40 – MASTER CHEWY

MASTER CHEWY had the race at his mercy when getting the last wrong at Ascot 3 weeks ago and this expensive point recruit can gain compensation. Timeforatune still looks a work-in-progress but he’s certainly in the right hands, with Attacca expected to leave the bare form of his Kempton win behind.

13:15 – HIDDEN HEROICS

HIDDEN HEROICS won a race that rather fell apart at Exeter last month but there was plenty to like about the way he went about things and, with further improvement on the cards, he’s fancied to follow up. Green Vault made it 2 from 2 over fences with plenty in hand at Ayr and is second choice.

13:50 – MARTA DES MOTTES

Having run out an emphatic winner on chase debut at Southwell, MARTA DES MOTTES emerged with plenty of credit when runner-up in a much deeper race at Chepstow 3 weeks ago, finding only an unexposed sort too strong. She earns the vote to prove her mark a workable one now stepping back up in trip, with easy Warwick scorer Hawthorn Cottage and Gazette Bourgeoise others to consider. Electric Annie isn’t dismissed lightly either.

14:25 – COMMODORE

Venetia Williams had a Saturday to remember last week with 4 runners making a winning reappearance and COMMODORE can enhance that record further and take this contest for a second year in succession. He’s unlikely to have it all his own way though, with Grimthorpe Chase winner Undersupervision fancied to give the selection most to think about on reappearance. Captain Cattistock and Eva’s Oskar are another couple to consider in what promises to be a fascinating feature.

FANCY A CHANCE TO WIN £/€75K?

15:00 – MULLENBEG

MULLENBEG had plenty in hand at Ludlow last week so a 7 lb penalty may not prevent her going in again, for all this is undoubtedly a stronger race. Punctuation is another on a winning run and heads the dangers along with Jonjo O’Neill’s Anyharminasking. Gary Moore French recruit LE PATRON would also need considering if the betting suggests she’s fancied.

15:35 – DUSART

 It’s likely that DUSART’s primary targets for the season ahead will be over the larger obstacles but he is nevertheless of strong interest back in this sphere given the huge promise he showed as a novice hurdler during a two-race 2020/21 campaign. The 7-y-o looks capable of defying top weight and will perhaps do so at the chief expense of Flight Deck, who got back on track when runner-up at Carlisle recently. Dusart’s stablemate Captain Morgs and the mare Indefatigable also enter calculations.
