We’ve a rollover £/€50k jackpot up for grabs in our super free to enter racing game Saturday and you could be in with a chance to win it.
To help you along the road, we’ve drafted in racing royaltyRuby Walsh and top tipster Rory Delargyto share their top picks on the 5 selected races below.
RORY DELARGY: Last year’s runner-up Hill Sixteen is tempting, I prefer Dr Kananga who is a bold-jumping front runner with exactly the skill-set required for this unique course. His best effort came when slamming two next-time winners by 12 lengths and 11 lengths at Sandown in February. He jumped to his left then so should do even better going this way round now. He made a very pleasing return over hurdles at Bangor last month, finding only the promising Maximilian too strong, and he looks capable of doing better again this season.
RORY DELARGY: MARTATOR makes his debut for Venetia Williams after a break having had wind surgery. Williams has a particularly good recent record with such horses- although most have been handicap chasers. Last season’s Grade 3 winners Cloudy Glen and Commodore followed a similar path to success. There’s no reason it shouldn’t work just as well for hurdlers.
RUBY WALSH: I am worried about the ground for Love Envoi as her best hurdles form has been on slower ground. I’m going to take a chance on Venetia Williams’ MARTATOR. His French form, all be it over a year ago, is quite strong behind Hermes Baie and some of those were Grade 1 races. He’s had a wind op and been given plenty of time to acclimatise with Venetia so he could be a star.
RORY DELARGY: The handicapper has raised RIDERS ONTHE STORM only 2lbs for his win over Hitman and Ga Law in the Old Roan Chase over course and distance in October, and that looks like a very lenient assessment of a race which is working out very well. Hitman easily won a graduation chase at Haydock on his next start, while Ga Law went on to win the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham last month. His trainer Richard Hobson was bullish that he had his string in much better health than last season, and results seem to prove that, with Saint Xavier landing a quiet gamble at Haydock on Wednesday. Riders Onthe Storm Hobson has flattered to deceive before but has had six weeks off since the Old Roan success to freshen up.
RUBY WALSH: I can’t believe RIDERS ONTHE STORM is only 2lbs higher for beating Hitman, who has won twice since, and Ga Law, who won the Paddy Power, in the Old Roan so the form is rock solid. He’s my pick!

RORY DELARGY: The bone condition blamed for SHISHKIN’s shock flop in the Champion Chase seems to be behind him based on the positive noises coming out of Seven Barrows and he really should be too good for his rivals in the Tingle Creek if that’s the case.
RUBY WALSH: If he runs, SHISHKIN will win. If he doesn’t, Greaneteen will win. Every horse can have an off day and the comments from the yard last week were very positive about Shishkin so they’re obviously very happy about him. Gentleman De Mee will need a career best.
RORY DELARGY: I tipped WALKING ON AIR up in a similar contest last week at Newbury but he was a non- runner. He had looked one to follow when winning on his hurdles bow in January over two miles by 13 lengths and a length from a pair of next-time winners who are now rated 122 and 114 respectively. Walking On Air’s opening handicap mark looks lenient by comparison. He couldn’t cope with Grade 1 company after a break at Aintree, but that was a huge ask. Despite his inexperience over timber, he looks to have been handed a very good opportunity.
RUBY WALSH: I’m all over WALKING ON AIR. I think this fella’s chucked in off a mark of 132.
