This looks warm for the grade. Bora Bora, Super Den, Motawaafeq and Cloch Nua (second choice) all have something to recommend them but BRAINS is handicapped to win and the return of blinkers, worn for all of his victories, can see him get off the mark for his new connections.

There are some interesting newcomers on show, notably the Gosden-trained pair Cloud Angel and Sweet Memories, and the market should be revealing. Mighty River and BURDETT ROAD have shown clear winning potential though and the latter can gain compensation for a slightly unfortunate second here last month.

18:20 – Aberama Gold
Vespasian could still have his best days ahead of him and he needs a second look but the pair to appeal most are Muscika and ABERAMA GOLD. The former won this race last year – completing the third leg of a hat-trick in the process – and is 7lb lower today despite a recent win. Aberama Gold is down in class though and he may have the ability to concede weight all round.
18:50 – Looking For Lynda
A useful race. The likeable LOOKING FOR LYNDA is the pick of the weights and is selected to provide the Karl Burke yard with a second successive win in this contest. Shaquille looked a natural over 6f at York last time and is second choice ahead of George Boughey’s Danger Alert.
19:20 – King Of The South
There’s not much between last month’s Newcastle 1-2 KING OF THE SOUTH and Pirate King on the revised terms but the former’s excellent 7-11 strike-rate on this surface suggests he may come out on top again.
19:50 – Sunstone
Some ifs and buts about most but SUNSTONE is improving and she had no luck in running on her recent handicap debut over C&D. The main danger could be Star Legend who showed promise in his first AW run at Lingfield and has been gelded since running moderately next time. Vega Sicilia is also considered back on the AW.

The five-timer is very much on the cards for QUEEN OF IPANEMA (nap) as she still looked to have something up her sleeve when winning at Newcastle three weeks ago. Both Nolton Cross and Obsidian Knight have been in good form over C&D of late and they look the main dangers.
