Mc’Ted and Lethal Touch combine to give Joseph Parr a decent hand, while Unplugged needs respecting off a mark 1lb lower than for his comeback win in the summer. A chance is taken, though, on the unexposed ROARING RIVER, a half-sister to a few useful winners who offered more last time and goes up in trip now handicapping at a lowly level. Pure Motion could also be capable of better.
It’s highly debatable what Mayfair Gold achieved when going close at Kempton and CAPITAL THEORY looks a better bet after his close third in handicap company. Chargo was competitive under both codes in Ireland and she may also have a say.
Diamond Ranger and The Menstone Gem (preferred in that order) both ran well in the same 9.4f event at Wolverhampton 12 days ago and have pretty solid claims here but the one with most potential is handicap debutant IDEE FIXEE, who has a very good middle-distance pedigree and showed a fairly useful level of form in all his three qualifying runs. Tarbaan also deserves a mention.
A competitive handicap in which GRANARY QUEEN may be able to continue on her upward curve. She ran with great credit against some unexposed and useful fillies at Lingfield 12 days ago and proved this track was no problem on her penultimate start. Aljari (second choice), Jilly Cooper, How Impressive and Nasim may provide the stiffest resistance.

Maiden SENSE OF SECURITY, who remains unexposed over 6f, is taken to build on her Kempton effort and get off the mark. Araifjan, who holds obvious claims, is feared most. Elegant Ellen has possibilities on her second start for a new yard.
The return to 6f is a plus for ALAFDHAL, who may have more to offer in low-grade handicaps over this distance. Admirable Lad looks a big threat if returning from his 75-day break in top form, while El Royale and Banphrionsanaluas are open to improvement.
Everything looks in place for LA ROCA DEL FUEGO (nap) to add to his four course wins after a back-to-form effort last time, with stall 5 ideal for one happiest off the sharp end and Rose Dawes knocking off 7lb. Yimou, who’s on a handy mark and has had excuses of late, is next best, while much with the quirky Expert Opinion will hinge on how he reacts to a switch in headgear.
Many of the runners are not solid. MISS BELLADONNA is a definite exception and she may be able to record a second C&D success. Storm Melody (second choice) has done enough this year to warrant respect at this level, while the selection’s stablemate Mr Funky Monkey has possibilities if building on his reappearance effort. Man On A Mission is another to consider, provided he turns out quickly after yesterday’s win.
Off an unchanged mark DIOMED SPIRIT looks interesting, as he beat Grace Angel on worse terms at Lingfield in June and remains unexposed on AW. Grace Angel is a reliable sort who still warrants respect and is second choice ahead of Michaela’s Boy.
