It’s hard to have great faith in any of these. RING THE MOON has shown little in two recent chases but, in the hope that a visor reinvigorates him, is given the nod. Lusaka has plenty going for him but the concession of weight all round may be difficult.
With no further rain forecast, there is a question about how SUPERVISOR will cope with likely quicker ground but his two chasing efforts from last season give him strong claims. Chasing newcomer Crystal Moon is the main danger.
The Milton Harris-trained MULLENBEG is improving with experience and could well take some beating if maintaining her progress. Cup Of Coffee will be a threat if all is well after her fall.
One True King is appealing, despite his heavy Aintree defeat, with this trip likely to suit. LASKALIN (nap) recorded his five French wins on officially very soft or heavy ground but in at least one of those races the conditions were a lot less testing and he is taken to gain a first success in Britain. Sam Barton is also considered.
It’s hard to rule out any of these in this interesting race but the vote goes to TAP TAP BOOM, who won in good style off a reduced mark on his recent chase debut at Plumpton and a 5lb rise for that success looks fair. The main threat could come from Presuming Ed, who made it second-time lucky over fences with his unchallenged win over C&D four weeks ago. Third choice is Prime Pretender, who has finished runner-up in both his chase starts and looks interesting on this drop back in trip.

Loup de Maulde has perked up in the current yard and could well augment his Huntingdon win, despite the 8lb rise. THE COMPOSEUR disappointed at Exeter but his previous effort suggested he can win again over hurdles and Jamie Brace’s 8lb allowance is a real help. Unblinking will be feared if attracting support.
Two of the more appealing newcomers, Brave Jen and Arctic Saint, have already had wind ops and both sport a tongue-strap, which lessens confidence a little. Dysart Enos showed enough in an Irish point to suggest he has a future and might be the main threat to CAWTHORNE BANKER, who shaped well when second on last month’s debut.
