12:25 Southwell – Trapista (The Guardian)
Ile De Jersey looked sure to make a winning chasing debut before overjumping at the final fence at Taunton 19 days ago and she’s an obvious contender, despite incurring a 6lb rise. However, preference is for TRAPISTA, who began her chasing career with a promising third in higher-grade company at Chepstow last month and is sure to be suited by today’s move back up in trip. Lady Of The Night is next on the list.
12:45 Lingfield – South Dakota Sioux (The Times)
It will be interesting to see how David Evans’ pair All In The Hips and Billy’s Joy go in the market in a nursery in which there are more questions than answers. Pocket The Packet may be up to winning again off this mark, having pulled hard when beaten at odds-on last time, but 5f round here is rather a different test to 7f at Newcastle. It’s hard to know what to make of Miss Moonshine’s Kempton effort at a huge price, and maybe it will be worth chancing SOUTH DAKOTA SIOUX for a yard with a decent 2yo record here.
14:25 Punchestown – Harveys Quay (The Irish Sun)
The choice of the owner’s retained rider, HARVEY’S QUAY should have improvement to come from his promising return at Cork and can win off a 1lb higher mark. The Truant wasn’t far behind him that day and could prove his main threat. Look Don’t Touch was running well when unseating over C&D last time and is a player, as is Pythion.
14:40 Ayr – Gandhi Maker (Telegraph)
It may pay to give another chance to GANDHI MAKER, who has been beaten at short odds on consecutive outings this autumn but ran a big race over C&D on the first occasion and had a valid excuse last time. He still has significant potential and is preferred to class-dropper Caboy, who was seemingly aided by the addition of cheekpieces in the spring. Bak Rocky finished well over 2m1f last month and will be suited by today’s move back up in trip, while Spark Of Madness should also feature.
