A chance is taken on NEWBERRY NEW. He’s 5lb out of the handicap and has run well just once over the last 12 months, but that was the only previous time he’s worn these blinkers and the form of that second at Leicester in March has worked out very well. The very lightly raced point winner Glebe Road is a possible improver on his chase debut and he could be the chief danger ahead of last year’s runner-up Bitasweetsymphony. Croagh Patrick and Conceal arrive on the back of good runs.
15:15 Punchestown – Lord Erskine (Racing Post)
Having been rejuvenated on the Flat in the last season, LORD ERSKINE could transfer that form to hurdles. He ran well over C&D in April. Coventry, Sassy Yet Classy, Captain Conby and Robinstown could emerge as his main dangers.
