You have to be with Hitman here. His run at Aintree last month in the Old Roan Chase was a cracker and going up in distance will suit him. Paul Nicholls reckons he could be a King George horse in the making so he has to win this.

We don’t really need to go into too much focus here, LHomme Presse should and will win.

14:25 Haydock – Get A Tonic

This race depends on what Run For Oscar we are going to get and I think it’s worth taking him on. Good Risk At All will be a player but I was talking to Dan Skelton and he is really sweet on Get A Tonic. It sounds like he’s got her well tuned up after her last win at Ayr in April.

14:40  Ascot – Constitution Hill

Constitution Hill will win this and the trip will really suit him. We need him to continue to win until his showdown with Honeysuckle in March. I hope he bolts in.

15:00 Haydock – A Plus Tard

There is pace in the race and it could turn into a bit of a slog but you have to side with A Plus Tard. He’s just too good and Rachael Blackmore will wait until she decides she wants to go with him.

15:15 Ascot – Frero Banbou (each-way)

This race depends on whether you think Edwardstone is well handicapped. I’m not sure so I’m going with Frero Banbou in an each-way punt. We think Venetia Williams’ horses will come good in November and she could strike here.

15:35 Haydock – Musical Slave

I’m going to take a chance on Musical Slave for Philip Hobbs. He’s a nine-year-old and he was in fine form at the end of last season. He’s off a mark of 137 and he can go well.
