17:00 – Majestic Pride

The beautifully bred MAJESTIC PRIDE showed more than enough promise in his own right when second on last month’s Newmarket debut and he should be hard to beat. Hey Lyla is rather more exposed, but having been placed in her last three starts she is by far the most likely to chase him home.

17:30 – Arpina

Chagall merits respect after winning last time but has more to prove now carrying a 5lb penalty. Laurentia should make her presence felt under top weight but it could be worth siding with ARPINA. Admittedly, she’s a maiden but she should appreciate the return to this trip and acts on this surface. She may be able to strike from this mark. Money for Book Of Verse would be interesting on his stable debut.

18:00 – Trinity Girl

Not much solid recent form to go on here, the exception being Love Poems who scored over C&D last month, her second course win. She holds strong claims, but it may be worth taking a chance with TRINITY GIRL who also likes it around here and, unlike her rival, has been successful in similar grade to this.

18:30 – May Sonic

An interesting sprint handicap in which the market may be even more relevant than usual, especially with regard to Soldier’s Minute on his return from 216 days off and Ventura Tormenta, who returns from 784 days off having shown some high-class form as a 2yo. French import See You Boy is respected on his debut for Marco Botti, but the vote goes to dual C&D winner MAY SONIC (nap) who has dropped 4lb lower than when last successful.

19:00 – Rattling

Last year’s winner Helvetian has to be respected from a 1lb lower mark, but there may still be more to come from RATTLING whose 3lb rise for her latest Wolverhampton success may not be enough to stop her from following up. El Hombre (second to the selection at Wolverhampton) and Araifjan are others running well enough to suggest they can make an impact.

19:30 – Dark side prince

Five of these met over C&D a fortnight ago with Angle Land faring best in second. Despite a 2lb rise she is still below her last winning mark so is much respected, but preference is for dual C&D winner DARK SIDE PRINCE who finished fourth in that contest. Jessica Macey’s gelding was returning from six months off there and considering his record fresh it’s not hard to believe he will have come on for the run. Vape could also go well especially if left alone in front.

20:00 – Overstate

Although 100-1 when winning over C&D last month, OVERSTATE proved it was no fluke when chasing home a bang-in-form filly back here next time. Although he isn’t sure to enjoy his own way in front again this time, he still looks the one to beat on form. Sun Festival, who also likes to go forward, returns from 145 days off but he has gone well fresh in the past and can provide the main danger. Alice Kitty and Belisa De Vega look best of the others.

20:30 – Persian Wolf

While she has failed to set the world alight hitherto and was dropped back to 1m from middle distances for her two handicaps, Inchbae is surely worth another go at 1m2f+ and could be an improver. Slight preference, though, is for PERSIAN WOLF who is thrown in on lots of his Irish form and took a step back in that direction last time out. Costa Adeje is third on the list, with Eagle Path worth a close look on her first run for Mick Appleby.
