12:45 Go Steady

It might be worth chancing GO STEADY, who is better known as a chaser now but switched back to hurdling to make a winning seasonal debut just under a year ago and now bids to repeat that feat off the same mark. Dan Skelton’s other runner, Gregor, looked a promising novice in the early part of last season but this handicap debut comes after a long absence and stable conditional Tristan Durrell presumably had the pick of the two rides. Last-time-out winner Getaweapon is second choice.

13:15 Gitche Gumee

The promising GITCHE GUMEE is taken to defy a 7lb penalty for his Stratford success and remain unbeaten. Interesting rules debutant Amrons Sage is feared most, ahead of American Land.

13:45 Mexico

In a deep and very interesting novice hurdle the suggestion is MEXICO, who stuck pretty well to his task when third in an Aintree maiden last month. Grade 2 bumper winner Lookaway commands respect on today’s hurdling debut and is second choice. Spring Meadow, Ernest Gray, Ginny’s Destiny and Get Up Mush have all shown significant ability too.

14:15 Swincombe Fleat

Walk In Clover has a bit of chasing experience but needs to bounce back from a poor run. This may be fought out by the Anthony Honeyball-trained chase debutantes SWINCOMBE FLEAT and Lily The Pink, in that order of preference.

14:45 Jonbon

Grade 1 novice hurdle winner JONBON is already favourite for the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham in March and it will be very interesting to see how he fares on his debut over fences. Last season didn’t really go to plan for Monmiral but his creditable second at Aintree in April reminded us he’s very talented. He looks the main danger but West Cork has a recent run under his belt and is no mug.

15:15 Lostintranslation (NAP)

Several highly familiar names line up for a particularly good veterans’ chase. Considering he won the Betfair Chase three years ago and bagged Grade 2 honours on his reappearance last season, LOSTINTRANSLATION (nap) is a massively tempting proposition off a mark of just 150. He has become inconsistent but this represents a drop in class and it may well prove an ideal time to catch him. Celebre D’Allen, who did well for his new yard last term, is feared most ahead of Wishing And Hoping who ran well behind that rival here in February. Snow Leopardess is still of interest, while a few others also have possibilities.

15:45 Fortune Forever

As regards the runners with experience, FORTUNE FOREVER is most appealing as she made a promising debut here two months ago and should build on that effort. Her new stablemate Magistra Equitum also enters calculations, while Walk Of No Shame looks set go go well again. Most of the newcomers are interesting and any positive market moves should be strongly heeded.
