WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
16:20 – Bedazzling
BEDAZZLING showed improved form making his handicap debut at Newcastle and progressed further to open her account at Chelmsford last week, relishing the step up to six furlongs to score with any amount in hand. She is well in turned out under a 6 lb penalty and strikes as the type that can rack up a sequence. Sajwaan shaped well switched to a nursery in first-time cheekpieces when second at Newcastle and looks next best.
16:50 – Lord Paramount
LORD PARAMOUNT was strong in the betting on his debut in January but his inexperience was evident, though he improved on that effort when finishing runner-up at Newcastle two weeks later. He still showed signs of greenness on that occasion and should have even more to offer now on his return to from nine months off, in which time he has undergone a gelding operation. Brewing is respected following his debut success but has to concede weight to the selection.
17:20 – Whispering Dream
Unless one of the debutantes turns out to be very useful it’s likely that WHISPERING DREAM will go one place better than on last month’s debut over course and distance. She bumped into a potentially smart type on that occasion but pulled clear of the remainder and that sets a high standard of form. Stormy Sea, a half-sister to recent Champion Stakes winner Bay Bridge, and Labiqa are newcomers who make plenty of paper appeal but the betting will provide more clues.

17:55 – Like A Tiger
LIKE A TIGER showed plenty of ability when narrowly denied on debut at Newmarket in September and, though he didn’t improve as expected at Nottingham last time, he still left the impression he has more to offer. Soft ground may not have suited that day and he is a horse to remain positive about on all-weather debut. Feud, Lunar Landscape and Bauhinia Rhapsody have all shown talent and appeal as the biggest dangers to the selection.
18:30 – Tadshin
The ones with experience don’t set an exacting standard so this can go to a newcomer with the Roger Varian-trained TADSHIN making plenty of appeal on paper. He is a half-brother to several winners, most notably high-class Benbatl, and he represents a yard that have plenty of first-time-out winners. Other well-bred newcomers Manxman and Mostabshir both look likely types on paper and the market should reveal plenty more.
19:00 – Monopolise
MONOPOLISE didn’t look obviously well treated making his handicap debut but he showed improved form to open his account, relishing the step up to seven furlongs, and the way he shapes suggest this even longer trip will bring about further progress. Therefore, he takes preference over Maxi King, who is a likeable type and arrives on the back of a solid showing at Newcastle.
19:30 – Imperium
This is a good-quality staying handicap but IMPERIUMis a four-time course and distance winner and is expected to get back on the up back on the all-weather. He was disappointing when last seen on turf in April, but he has been freshened up since and has also undergone a breathing operation. He remains on a good mark and can launch a bold bid (has gone well fresh in the past). Bandinelli should enjoy further success this winter and is feared most, with recent Nottingham winner Prince Imperial also in the mix.
20:00 – Follow Your Heart
FOLLOW YOUR HEART’s last win came over this course and distance in December last year and he left the impression he is ready to strike again when narrowly denied at Wolverhampton last week. He stepped up on his return from a short break and arguably would have won with a clearer passage. He remains on the same mark, which is 3 lb lower than his last winning one, and is a horse to be interested in at this sort of level. Gold Medal, who was also unlucky on his latest appearance, is feared most.
20:30 – Pandemic Princess
PANDEMIC PRINCESS made a promising start for this yard when second at Chelmsford 11 days ago after five months off and should go well again off a similar mark if this doesn’t come too soon. Coolagh Magic was impressive over course and distance five weeks ago and is the obvious threat, with Holbache and The Princes Poet others to consider.
