Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
In a race of mainly unexposed sorts, a chance is taken on the Kelso bumper winner ROCKY HILL who is making his hurdles and stable debut. His main dangers could be Get Sky High and Astromachia, who are also making their hurdling debuts.
An interesting Mullins/Elliott battle is on the cards. BRONN proved his credentials as a Grade 2 novice hurdle winner and is just preferred to the unbeaten Gerri Colombe, whose novice hurdling campaign came to a premature end in January. Neither Freedom To Dream nor Shantreusse would be a surprise winner of a beginners’ event that has plenty of depth. Former smart hurdler Sam’s Profile has not yet prospered as a chaser but remains noteworthy.
The mare Paris Dixie and the in-form Hereford specialist Pottlerath (second choice) will attract their fair share of supporters and it’s easy to argue a reasoned case for either. However, with the realistic prospect of further rainfall and softening conditions, the Taunton scorer MY LAST OSCAR is the preferred choice. He stays well and is open to further improvement.
Having finished second behind the subsequent Kim Muir winner Chambard when last seen, STORM ARISING could well go one better off the same mark. Second choice is Tallow For Coal, who is the youngest horse in the field and looks open to further progress this season. Frenchy Du Large, Pemberley and Certainly Red are also in the mix.
