Horse Racing tips: A 5/2 leads the card at Fakenham today

12:20 – Release the Kraken

Vetoncall returns from another absence on a lowly mark and he could go well, while Joey Steel (second choice), a C&D winner, has solid credentials if reproducing his penultimate effort. RELEASE THE KRAKEN is a very interesting runner on his stable debut though and his best hurdle form for Nicky Richards suggests this mark should be well within range.

12:52 – Marshella

Ygritte showed enough on her debut to think there was some ability present and that experience will stand her in good stead against three newcomers. MARSHELLA makes some appeal on paper though and is tentatively selected in an unappealing betting race.

13:22 – Sabbathical

There were more promising signs from Follow Your Fire (second choice) in a void race at Bangor three weeks ago and he is on a fair mark again now. Gouet Des Bruyeres and Master Malcolm can both feature but SABBATHICAL should be sharper for a recent run over hurdles and he can repeat last year’s success in this race.

13:52 – Secret Trix

Camulus (second choice) should appreciate this greater test of stamina and he is feared on this drop in grade. Doireann can do better after a wind operation but SECRET TRIX might be the answer. He made good late gains at Perth, in just his second handicap, and stepping up in trip should see him in a better light.

14:22 – Mullenbet (NAP)

Last year’s winner Sorbet wasn’t at her best when last seen and the pair to focus on could be the in-form Princess T and the unexposed MULLENBEG (NAP). The selection needs more than when winning at Plumpton 15 days ago but her very useful bumper form offers plenty of encouragement that she will prove well handicapped.

14:52 – Prime Pretender

Conceroe should be happier over this slightly shorter trip but PRIME PRETENDER looked a winner-in-waiting at Ffos Las nine days ago and this longer trip should be advantageous. He can take this en route to better things.

15:22 – Shinji

Grangeclare North is bred to be a useful jumper and needs a market check but the pair with the most pressing paper claims are Damarta and SHINJI. The selection is bred to be a useful Flat performer and can provide Roger Varian with a rare National Hunt winner.
