13:10 – Bardenstown Lad
I quite like Bardenstown Lad for John McConnell, who is in fine form. He was unlucky in his last run at Listowel and the course doesn’t quite suit him like Cheltenham will. The ground should be ideal too and he could be a bit of value.

13:45 – Edwardstone
You’ve got to stick with Edwardstone. I know he lost at Aintree against Gentleman De Mee but he had a three-week turnaround for that race which is tough. It was just tired legs that found him out. If he’s to be competitive this season, he should be beating Nube Negra.
14:20 – Fantastikas
Fantastikas ticks a lot of boxes for Nigel and Sam Twiston-Davies. It didn’t go well for him at Ayr but he can bounce back here. He’s rated 142, which is very workable.

14:55 – Thousand Tears & Harbour Lake (each-way)
Dads Lad and Thousand Tears are really interesting but I’ll go with the latter. Aidan Coleman is a really interesting booking and you have to respect Emmet Mullins. He’s back hurdling this season and the yard won this race in 2020.
I’m also keeping an eye on Harbour Lake for Alan King. Tom Cannon is on board and he seems too big of a price so there could be some each-way value.

15:30 – Springwell Bay & Fascinating Shadow (each-way)
Springwell Bay is the obvious one and he warmed up well into the task during his last win at Carlisle in October on his seasonal reappearance. There’s surely more to come off the back of that.
If you don’t fancy the runners at the top of the market, Fascinating Shadow is a good each-way play. He’s won his only run over hurdles and if the ground is good, he could outrun his odds.
