WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:45 – Nube Negra
Unfortunately, Alan King has taken Edwardstone out of the race as he feels the ground is a bit quick for him to take his chance. I feared Nube Negra even before the news broke as he is highly rated and has good form at this track and was second in a Champion Chase. He looks to have a golden opportunity now.
14:20 – Does He Know
Kim Bailey will be hoping for better luck with Does He Know than he had when he ended up on the floor at Kelso. it wasn’t really his fault as he got hampered. Some of his form is top-class including when he beat Threeunderthroughfive at Chepstow in the early part of last season. Ramses de Teillee is one to note as he is fresh from a wind operation. Keep an eye on a market move.
14:55 – I Like to Move It
It’s hard to get a handle on this race. The Willie Mullins’ trained Dads Lad could be well handicapped on some of his Chase form and I was very keen on him when he won a handicap chase at the November meeting and is definitely a player. However, I’m willing to take a punt on I Like To Move It from the Nigel Twiston-Davies team.
He won twice at the track last season he was only a four-year-old, so he’s bound to have improved physically since then. He was a little disappointing in the County Hurdle after getting chinned in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury but can go close now.

15:30 – Springwell Bay
Some of the top trainers are represented here with interesting runners. We’ve got Irish challengers She Is Electric for Norman Lee and Fascinating Shadow for John ‘Shark’ Hanlon. Olly Murphy has Ukantango who has won a couple of races easily. Iberico Lord has jumped really well schooling and won very nicely on the Flat in France and could be the dark horse in the field but I’ll take the fav, Springwell Bay.

16:00 – Roger Pol
Roger Pol was impressive at Worcester and I saw him win when I was working that day. He is not overly big but he is well related and won very nicely, He might just be a bit of value against the John McConnell-trained challenger, Notnowned.
