17:30 – Mirabello Bay

There are a few in here making their nursery debuts after having shown little in their three qualifying runs. Star Sight may be the pick of that group with the longer trip likely to suit on pedigree, but MIRABELLO BAY already has the form on the board having won at Wolverhampton and run well to finish second over C&D last time. Pink Lily has finished behind the selection the last twice, but still looks the likeliest alternative with Star Adaay the best of the others.

18:00 – Maggies Way

There are some interesting newcomers due to line up here and the market should be revealing regarding their prospects but a few of these have already shown ability, not least Perdika following her two wins on Tapeta last month. She is likely to do her best again but she has to concede at least a stone to each of her rivals, some of whom have also shown promise. Densetsu (second choice) and Sophia’s Starlight both fit that description, but the vote goes to MAGGIE’S WAY who finished clear of the third when narrowly beaten at Kempton last month. Any further improvement on that would give her every chance.

18:30 – One For The Frog

Not a deep race. Yakhabar and Colombidea (second choice) have shown enough to suggest they can play a part, while the market should be revealing as regards the reappearing Pearl’s A Swinger. However, the vote goes to ONE FOR THE FROG who chased home a Haggas-trained filly on her recent Southwell debut and any improvement on that may well be good enough.

19:00 – Dubai Leader

Not the strongest 0-105 with the top-weight rated 20lb below the race ceiling. DUBAI LEADER made it 2-5 when winning in clearcut fashion at Kempton eight days ago and despite a 6lb penalty and another 2f to contend with, he looks to be on the up so is taken to follow up that success. Mountain Road would come into it if they go off hard up front as he has looked a strong stayer over 2m lately, but a bigger danger may be Wagga Wagga, who looked a progressive type before failing in his hat-trick bid last time when the race wasn’t run to suit.

19:30 – Laheg (NAP)

As he’s been running so well on turf lately and is a C&D winner, it seems likely that Twilight Heir will put in another big effort, but preference is for the lightly raced LAHEG (nap). He scraped home here last time but seemed to idle once in front so probably won with a bit more hand than it looked. Swiss Pride has been placed four times from five starts over C&D, so he may offer some each-way value.

20:00 – Alpha Cru

Despite an absence of 392 days it’s hard to dismiss Piece Of History given that he has winning form over C&D and is drawn against the inside rail, while there is still scope for further improvement from Lady Eros now that she switches to a handicap. However, despite only making her AW debut last month ALPHA CRU has already shown an aptitude for the surface in finishing runner-up in both starts over C&D. She has a nice draw again and is taken to go one better. Rainbow Colours has dropped to a handy mark and is worth keeping an eye on.

20:30 – Cool Vixen

This is a tight call between the penalised pair Always Fearless and COOL VIXEN who both won a division of a 1m handicap at Kempton ten days ago. The former turned things around with his all-the-way success but the vote goes to Cool Vixen, who produced a strong finish for her comfortable win over an in-form rival. City Central was an eyecatcher on her handicap debut at Newcastle last week and has claims if she can build on that, while others on the shortlist are Mcqueen and Cap D’antibes.
