The only runner coming here on the back of a half-decent effort is Vanderbilt and yet he’s hardly bet material with him yet to win in 60 career starts. A tentative nod goes in the direction of VISION CLEAR, who was odds-on for one of these races when falling midrace last November and he wouldn’t have enjoyed the heavy ground when reappearing on the Flat only recently. True Romance might be the danger.

As was the case at Ludlow last time, I SPY A DIVA has the best form of these and she should go in again. Urban Soldier ran moderately in a bumper here but the ground was soft and it would be disappointing should he not show a lot more now.
14:25 – Midnight Midge
A tight race and chase debutante Ile De Jersey is of obvious interest with her 4yo allowance. However, MIDNIGHT MIDGE looks handicapped to win races for his new yard and he’s preferred. Not that the other three runners are dismissed lightly.
15:00 – Rubaud
It will be disappointing should RUBAUD not show a lot more than at Kempton back in February and this ex-French gelding must be held in some regard to have kicked over hurdles in a Grade 2. Dancing Harry looks the best equipped to make a race of it.

After throwing it away at Fakenham, the first-time blinkers are an interesting addition for OCEANS RED, and going right-handed should also help. Bebraveforglory pulled clear with the second at Stratford and he’s a live threat.
