16:30 Oh So Charming
He needs to prove he’s effective on this surface but the most obvious answer is OH SO CHARMING, who drew nicely clear to win comfortably on good to soft turf last month. Outgun has shown significant promise in two similar C&D races this autumn and is second choice. Debut winner Bulldog Spirit can feature if able to bounce back from a disappointing run behind the selection on his second outing.

17:00 Ghibelline
There are some very interesting newcomers on show, notably the Gosden-trained pair Ghara and Naaey, as well as Amor Victorious, Aubazine, Decoration and La Isla Mujeres. The betting should be revealing but there is some solid form on offer too, notably Miss Dolly Rocker’s debut second over C&D. GHIBELLINE didn’t achieve quite as much on her debut at Newbury but it was a run that threatened much better in the future and she could take a significant step forward today.
17:30 Zouzanna
As with the first division there are some interesting newcomers on show but there may be a bit more depth amongst those with experience in this field. Beccara Rose (second choice), Kristal Klear and Moving Colours should all be capable of winning a similar event but ZOUZANNA shaped very well on last month’s Windsor debut and she should be more streetwise with that effort behind her.

18:00 Mighty River
With the step up to 1m and switch to AW looking major plus points, MIGHTY RIVER should build on his Doncaster debut promise. He’s first choice ahead of King Me, whose form stacks up well. Garden Route has good claims provided he consents to load, while Kadovar and Fox Journey are open to further progress. August looks the pick of the newcomers.
18:30 Fiorina
A competitive handicap in which the in-form pair Masqool and Ring Of Light are sure to be popular. Both should go well, while Aussie Banker, Youarenotforgiven, Nasim and Rogue Star also have something to recommend them. Billy Loughnane has looked very polished in his short riding career and his 7lb claim will help Arcadian Nights (second choice), who caught the eye at Wolverhampton last month. That said, it might be worth taking a chance on FIORINA. She ran a fine race over C&D in May and although her progress has stalled since, she should be sharper for last month’s return to action (after a wind op) and she now has accessories added.
19:00 Tenjin (NAP)
Bailey Gate should be happier back on AW and he isn’t handicapped out of things, while a wind op could spark more from Geralt Of Rivia (second choice). TENJIN (nap) looked to have plenty up his sleeve when beating Elegant Charm over C&D two weeks ago though and he can make light of his 6lb rise.
19:30 Sundayinmay
Preference is for three-time Polytrack winner SUNDAYINMAY, who has found more progress in her last two starts including a close call off only 1lb lower over C&D last time. The main danger is Tony Carroll’s C&D winner How Hard Can It Be, who finished just behind the selection here three weeks ago. End Result is on a dangerous mark and could make a bold bid on his drop back in grade, while others who could be in the mix are Mille Miglia and Meadram.

20:00 First Folio
A fiercely competitive handicap. Five of the field contested a C&D handicap last week with Aramis Grey coming out on top on that occasion. Both Strike Red and Apollo One may reverse those placings at the revised weights but it may pay to look elsewhere for the winner. Ivasecret remains well handicapped and can go well despite the outside stall, while Aphelios (second choice) continues to go from strength to strength, but FIRST FOLIO is taken to defy top weight. James Ferguson’s 4yo ran well in the circumstances here five weeks ago and should find this being run more favourably.
20:30 Bascule
Author’s Dream is probably the most solid option judged on their recent outings, making his return to AW after the Cesarewitch. However, the same move may well provide the right opening for BASCULE to add to his four wins on Polytrack last autumn. Juan Bermudez is the very lightly raced, unexposed contender.
