13:07 – Colony Queen

COLONY QUEEN didn’t get very far on her hurdling debut at Uttoxeter – she unseated at the third – and she ran to only a modest level when down the field at Ffos Las last time. However, she showed useful form on the Flat in 2021, winning all three starts during that campaign, so she clearly possesses ability. It’s still early days over hurdles and she may yet do better in this sphere, so she gets the nod in an ordinary-looking affair.

13:37 – Thundersockssundae

THUNDERSOCKSSUNDAE was left with a simple task over this course and distance last month as his two rivals stopped quickly, though a decent time for the grade does add some substance to the display. He has gone up 7 lb for that success but has seemingly returned in good order and looks to have been found another nice opportunity.

14:07 – Onemorefortheroad

ONEMOREFORTHEROAD has won both starts over this course and distance, including this event 12 months ago, so is clearly effective at this venue. He is also on a handy mark, only 2 lb above the rating he last defied at Newbury, and he arrives here on the back of a promising reappearance at Aintree in October. Onemorefortheroad travelled smoothly in that two-and-a-half miler at Aintree, leading on the bridle two out, but he was unable to sustain his effort as well as his rivals and ultimately had to settle for fourth. He should be suited by the drop back to two miles here, while he is also entitled to be fitter for that comeback effort.

14:37 – Le Breuil

LE BREUIL wasn’t at his best in hunter chases in the spring, for all he managed to snap a long losing run here in May, but he makes his return to action with trainer Ben Pauling going well and it would be little surprise were he to take advantage of this handy mark. He was a smart performer at his best and if the yard’s general upturn in fortunes has had a positive impact on him he could outclass these rivals.

15:07 – Cobbs Corner

COBBS CORNER produced his best effort yet when scoring on his reappearance at Fakenham last month, showing a good turn of foot to quicken clear approaching the last and win by two and a quarter lengths. Cobbs Corner appreciated the emphasis being placed on speed at Fakenham, so he ought to be suited by this flat track on decent ground, and a 4 lb rise in the weights for his latest success looks fair enough.

15:37 – Vivid Pink

There’s not much form to go on here, but VIVID PINK makes some appeal on paper and could be worth siding with on her debut for a top yard. Vivid Pink is by a good sire in Sea The Moon – Tritonic and Allmankind are among his jumps progeny – and starts out with trainer Alan King among the winners.
