It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
14:00 Lingfield – Gallic Geordie (Whistler)
GALLIC GEORDIE was in fine form over fences last winter when completing a hat-trick at Newbury but he wasn’t seen out after posting a below-par fourth at Ayr in February. Has won off a break before so he can’t be discounted on his seasonal return.
14:07 Huntingdon – Boombawn (Ben Morgan)
BOOOMBAWN won two novice hurdles in the spring before chasing home Saturday’s Wincanton winner Knappers Hill in a valuable handicap at Sandown. All out to beat his sole serious rival in a Listed race here three weeks ago but the second is useful and has since dotted up in a maiden. This mark is no gift but he’s going the right way.
17:30 Chelmsford – Girl Magic (Rory Delargy)
GIRL MAGIC has been consistent since her 5f win on turf in May. Runner-up in 6f novice events at Wolverhampton and Leicester the last twice. The penalty remains but Taylor Fisher takes off a handy 7lb this time. Should go well again.
19:30 Chelmsford – Chichester (Andrew Bladen)
CHICHESTER has been more consistent on the AW than turf and appreciated the return to Tapeta last time, having tumbled a stone down the weights on grass this season. A slow start and steady early pace wasn’t ideal down to 1m on that latest start and he’s high on the shortlist.
