16:20 – Phoenix Glow

Evolicatt (second choice), the only winner in the field, will find this easier than the nurseries she has previously tackled but there are some potential improvers on show. Money for Emperor Zen would look significant, while Leonna and Dee’s Dream also have some untapped potential. PHOENIX GLOW kept on stoutly over 6f here two weeks ago, though, and this extra furlong could prompt some further progress.

16:55 – Dancing Goddess

Red Maids makes easily the most appeal among those who have run and she is a stablemate of Ceanna who may be the Gosden first string on jockey bookings, so the betting moves should give a big clue there. However, there are other newcomers of major interest, with the vote going to Charlie Appleby’s DANCING GODDESS ahead of Sir Michael Stoute’s Corymbosa.

17:30 – Via Corone

Edith Rigby looks the pick of those with experience but this looks ripe for one of the well-bred newcomers to make a winning start. VIA CORONE represents a yard with a superb strike-rate in AW novices and she gets the nod.

18:00 – Naxos

Newcastle winner NAXOS did that job so well that he is taken to defy a penalty. Dumfries and Moush are others who can get involved, while Rogue Tornado and Tyndrum Gold are arguably the two newcomers of greatest interest.

18:30 – Soar Above (NAP)

The Perfect Crown has a mammoth absence to contend with but he has conditions to suit on his return and he needs a market check. Queenlet and the Muir/Grassick-trained pair Mitrosonfire and Top Secret (second choice) also come right into the reckoning but course specialist SOAR ABOVE (NAP) is back to a winning mark and can gain a ninth Kempton win.

19:00 – Apollo One

The flourishing Strike Red has more on his plate off a new mark and from the widest stall so he may come up short in his hat-trick bid. Tyger Bay (second choice) and Aramis Grey both have something to recommend them, while Emperor Spirit and Aberama Gold also come into it. APOLLO ONE hasn’t won for a while but his AW form this year stacks up very nicely and he can come out on top now down in class.

19:30 – Dark Island

Most of these have something to prove and this could revolve around the two in-form contenders in Genesius and DARK ISLAND. The former is a triple 1m4f winner who finished close up off the same mark at Wolverhampton last month, but slight preference is for Heather Main’s lightly raced 3yo, who came good with a 1m3f win here last time and is open to more progress.

20:00 – Rooful

So Savvy (second choice) got off the mark with an all-the-way win at Wolverhampton last time and is respected back on Polytrack in his bid to make it 2-3 for Mick Appleby. Heer’s Sadie could make a serious impact if she gets some luck, while the handicap newcomer Spirit Of Cahala needs watching in the market. However, the vote goes to ROOFUL, who did well to overcome a wide trip when scoring over C&D three weeks ago and may be able to follow up off her revised mark.
