13:16 – Hosanna Power

HOSANNA POWER is bred more for stamina than speed but he showed plenty to work on over seven furlongs on debut at Doncaster 12 days ago. He took a while to hit top gear that day, but ran on well at the finish once the penny began to drop, and he will be much shaprer now. The step up in trip will also suit and he has to be of big interest. Star Ahoy ticks a lot of boxes on paper now making his debut so has to be monitored in the market.

13:46 – Garden Route

GARDEN ROUTE showed ability amidst obvious signs of greenness when keeping on for third in a maiden over a mile on debut at Newmarket six weeks ago and, sure to progress from that initial experience now, he earns the vote to come out on top in an open-looking race of its type. Plenty of debutants rate longer-term projects on paper but Chesspiece, who is from a very good family, may emerge best of them.

14:16 – Cash

CASH looked a smart prospect when making a winning debut at Newmarket last season and he confirmed that impression when arguably an unlucky loser behind Westover on his return in the Classic Trial at Sandown in April. That form has been franked since and Cash remains a horse of serious potential on his return from seven months off. He clearly hasn’t been the easiest to train but conditions shouldn’t be a problem and he makes plenty of appeal. Power Under Me, who won at listed level last time, is totally unexposed over a mile and is feared most.

14:46 – Main Fact

A few in with a squeak but MAIN FACT was off for over a year and a half prior to his reappearance at Newbury last month and he left the impression he retains a fair amount of ability. He developed into a smart hurdler a couple of year’s ago, form which makes him look attractively weighted now, and he should strip fitter here. Tin Fandango beat the selection comprehensively 12 days ago but he may have to settle for silver on this occasion, with Oleg rounding off the shortlist.

15:16 – Dream Composer

DREAM COMPOSER is enjoying an excellent season, recording his third win of the year at Ascot last month, proving better than ever in the process, and he is fancied to go in again with the form of that success having been franked since. Music Society, who won at Catterick recently, rates the chief threat under a 4 lb penalty, while Sky Blue Pink appeals as the pick of the remainder.

SHESADABBER was edged out by Zoom Star under similar conditions at Catterick last week, but she was beaten only a neck, and is taken to turn the tables on Bryan Smart’s charge on 5 lb better terms this time. Level Up, Captain Corcoran and Evasive Power are others to consider in a wide-open backend sprint handicap.

16:16 – Ebony Maw

EBONY MAW is on a lengthy losing run, but arrives on the back of a creditable second at Catterick which came in similar conditions, and he now has the assistance of Alice Stevens, who does so well in this sphere, so he boasts leading claims. Billy Roberts is considered the most feasible alternative, while Wots The Wifi Code could get involved if he’s in the same form as last time.
