Jim Bolger’s filly SOILSE has run well for a 10lb claimer on her last two starts. If Kevin Manning gets the same sort of tune out of her now she will be hard to beat despite her rise in the ratings. The much-improved Dazzling Spirit and Starting Monday, perhaps the most appealing of several course winners in the field, are among the most likely dangers.

13:40 – Summer Snow

The step up to 7f seemed to suit SUMMER SNOW at Gowran and she was arguably unlucky. She has a good chance of reversing form with the narrow winner Rhythm King and upholding form with third-placed Duke Of Leggagh. The selection can also reverse previous Navan form with Tic Tac Toe.

14:15 – Vocal Studies

This is a weak maiden and VOCAL STUDIES stands out by virtue of a recent second at the Curragh. Teddy O’Neill may give the Bolger filly most to do. Gillian Scott’s import Racing Royalty might be good enough to get into the money, and Broken Silence has a place chance if recapturing something like his old form.

14:50 – Speckled Meadow

The proven stamina of SPECKLED MEADOW (nap) will count for plenty in these conditions and she’ll be coming up the hill better than most. Wee Pablo finished well last time at Navan and stepping back up to 7f will suit, so he should go well along with Angel’s Trumpet who’s had a productive campaign.

15:25 – Chally Chute

A smallish field but several coming here in good form including confirmed mudlarks Lord Erskine and Intend. Killarney winner Molly’s Gamble is also respected as an improving 3yo but maybe CHALLY CHUTE can complete a hat-trick if handling the heavy ground, which most progeny of his sire Fast Company manage to do.

Dick Brabazon’s filly FAIR DAMSEL seems to be improving and can win for Colin Keane, reversing Thurles form with Itsalonglongroad in the process. Fenomeno rates a danger on the basis of a promising handicap debut. Astrophysicist, Bayou Belle and Bolero may also be in the mix.

16:35 – Your Honor

Conditions will suit YOUR HONOR who had Hello Power back in third when returning to form at Killarney and he may again be able to grind it out from the front. Mr Mills is better than he showed last time and could be a danger.
