A strong maiden hurdle for the venue. Imagine looked a smart prospect when winning his bumper and reappears here in new ownership, a potentially smart novice hurdler. However, the form of INNATENDUE (NAP) last season bears close scrutiny, notably his second in a Fairyhouse Grade 2 with some talented performers behind. With winning form in France on soft he should handles the conditions and his yard is in terrific form.

A very open rated novice hurdle in which none of the seven runners can be ruled out. A tentative vote goes to BIG ISLAND, on the proviso he settles better than at Tipperary.
14:05 – Navigator Jack
On the back of an encouraging comeback run earlier this month NAVIGATOR JACK gets the vote, ahead of Our Bobby and Laser Focus.
14:40 – Harry Des Ongrais
An ordinary enough maiden in which HARRY DES ONGRAIS probably won’t have to improve too much on his recent Gowran comeback effort to score. Happy Victory needs to improve on his recent Tramore run but still has potential. Drumderry Harlem could prove next best.

15:15 – Frontal Assault
Grand National winner Noble Yeats may be better for this outing having not gone very far on his return in France. It may rest between the Gigginstown pair and Jack Kennedy has understandably sided with Run Wild Fred but FRONTAL ASSAULT has scope for more improvement and doesn’t have a lot to find at the weights.
15:50 – Impervious
A good-class field in a race which has a decent roll of honour in recent years. IMPERVIOUS starts out over fences against the geldings and her weight allowance could prove crucial. She is taken to hold off last year’s second Cayd Boy and fellow chasing newcomers Au Fleuron, Palace Rock and Marvel De Cerisy.
16:25 – Good Land
Anything like the the form shown in his first two runs would make Landrake hard to beat but GOOD LAND is just preferred having shown plenty of promise on debut behind a useful stablemate of the former.
