13:30 – Piaff Bubbles
The suggestion in an open handicap hurdle is the lightly raced PIAFF BUBBLES who shaped with some encouragement on his first start for Rebecca Menzies and should benefit from today’s step up in distance. Heading a long list of dangers is another handicap debutant, Pileup, while cases can also be made for Miss Milano and Algesiras.

13:45 – Gelino Bello
Press Your Luck made a winning chasing debut at Chepstow with the minimum of fuss and should again put up a bold show from the front but he meets a useful opponent in GELINO BELLO and Paul Nicholls’ 6yo ought to be hard to beat if putting in a clear round.
14:20 – Name in Lights
This can go to handicap debutant NAME IN LIGHTS, who was seemingly aided by a tongue-tie when ending last season with two emphatic wins and can progress again this term. Parisencore was in very good form when last seen in the spring and is second choice, ahead of course specialist Albert’s Back.
14:55 – Tuddenham Green
A small but select field for the Wensleydale, all four contenders having won at least once. Mr Freedom has blossomed since joining Sheena West and has to be respected in his bid for a four-timer but TUDDENHAM GREEN may have a bit more potential. The best of these on the Flat, he was an authoritative scorer on his hurdling debut at Chepstow. Medyaf, from the 2019 winning stable, ought to make his presence felt as well.

15:30 – Coconut Splash
Flic Ou Voyou began this season with a small-field win three weeks ago but the favourite fell when going well and one of the other big players disappointed so the form isn’t anything to go wild about. Ready preference is for COCONUT SPLASH (nap), who is still seeking a first win over fences but has performed well against some smart rivals and has a good record when fresh. Into Overdrive will be dangerous if he picks up where he left off in the spring but confidence in him is dented by the decision to leave off the cheekpieces today.
16:05 – Chandlers Bay
Guesswork is required here but CHANDLERS BAY is a half-brother to a fairly useful hurdler and his stable is usually strong in this division, so he makes appeal on paper. Solomoon is seemingly the pick of Dan Skelton’s two runners and is feared most.
16:35 – Ukantango
Unbeaten under rules, UKANTANGO is taken to defy a penalty after landing the odds on his hurdling debut at Aintree in professional style. The main dangers may come from Don Hollow and Royal Mogul, separated by just a neck in a bumper here in February, with slight preference for the former. Several of the others have potential but may come into their own over longer trips.
