13:00 – Galilaeus
The bar isn’t set all that high by those with experience, so the Ralph Beckett-trained GALILAEUS is fancied to make a winning debut. He represents a yard that has had an excellent season with their juveniles and he makes plenty of appeal on paper. His stablemate Balance Play also appeals as an interesting debutant despite having already been gelded, while Laafi is the clear choice of those who have already run.

13:35 – Metabolt
METABOLT is one of the least exposed in this field and he is well worth another chance to build on the promise of his Carlisle win. He was well backed to follow up on his handicap debut at Chester last time but didn’t get the clearest of runs, short of room and having to wait for a gap around two furlongs out and not given an overly hard time once his chance had gone. This mark looks potentially lenient and he isn’t as exposed as the majority of these. Cisco Disco and Harswell Duke, who both won last time out, should also play a hand.
14:10 – Fast Response
This is a hot sprint handicap that can go to FAST RESPONSE. She’s ending the year in fine form, winning easily at Doncaster on Saturday under similar conditions to what she will encounter here, and is expected get the hat-trick up turned out under a penalty. Tarhib and Fantasy Master are big players while the presence of two-year-olds California Gem, a fairly useful course and distance winner, and The Thames Boatman, add further intrigue to the race.
14:45 – Sharron Macready
SHARRON MACREADY is not yet exposed and she remains of interest now back at the scene of her maiden win. She didn’t run too badly on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time where she was only headed well inside the final furlong and the drop back to five furlongs shouldn’t pose a problem in what will likely be testing conditions. Little Muddy should give it another good go, with Secret Handsheikh also on the shortlist.
15:20 – High Opinion
HIGH OPINION was narrowly denied on his recent handicap debut over course and distance and is taken to go one place better now as he has the obvious scope for further improvement after only four career starts, while he should also have no problem with the forecast ground. A French listed race was asking a lot of Colombe last time but she’s respected with her sights lowered now, while So Smart put up a career-best effort at Leicester two days ago and will be in the mix if turned out quickly.
15:55 – Alpine Stroll
ALPINE STROLL enhanced his good record at this course when finishing third in a big field over course and distance four weeks ago and will find this less competitive off the same mark provided he handles the ground. Miranda looked as good as ever over hurdles in the summer so could have more to offer back in this sphere from a potentially lenient mark.

16:30 – Good Show
GOOD SHOW seemed to excel himself when not beaten all that far in a Group 3 at Ascot earlier this month on just his second start and, now dropped markedly in class, he looks the one to beat over a trip which should suit him given how strong he was at the finish when making a winning debut. Artistic Choice showed enough when trained in Ireland to make him the main danger starting out for a new yard now fitted with headgear.
17:05 – Parikarma
PARIKARMA appears to have turned over a new leaf since joining Gary Moore by winning both of her starts at Brighton. She had to work harder than previously when following up 13 days ago, but she seemed to have a bit in hand (didn’t do much once hitting the front) at the line and a subsequent 3 lb rise still leaves her well treated on the pick of her form. Newcastle winner Wolf of Oxshott and Das Kapital are a couple of the dangers.
