It’s hard to build a strong case for anything else but Poppy Carrew put in some good late work over 6f here on her latest outing and can pose a threat now up in trip while nursery debutante Cantora is very unexposed.

Plenty of dead wood here but it’s still open. ROAD TO THE EAST took a forward step at York and any further improvement should see him being very competitive. Dear Daphne and Muy Muy Guapo bring similar profiles after pleasing second efforts and they are feared most in that order.
15:30 Maysong (NAP)
Guess should improve for going over 1m but he is in first-time headgear, which casts some doubt. Preference is for MAYSONG (NAP), who has had a good season and shouldn’t be marked down for his last two defeats. Harswell Duke and Strongbowe are others to be reckoned with.

Sisters In The Sky wasn’t disgraced in better company over C&D last time, especially as he was carried out of his ground, but GORDONSTOUN is a more proven stayer who ran his best race for these connections when making all over C&D 13 days ago. Fire Eyes has a difficult task at the weights with both but, while her win claims are slight, she could reach the frame.
16:35 Kape Moss
Rambuso Creek (next best) ran well after a break at Pontefract and could be capable of better again, while in the same colours May Blossom commands attention. First choice is KAPE MOSS, who will appreciate this drop in class and her fourth at York last time was an eyecatching effort.
