Horse Racing Tips: 8/1 NAP leads the charge at Kempton today

The Racing Post's tipster likes the look of their nice-priced NAP Bluebird at 20:30.

17:00 Mister X

This can go to MISTER X who showed plenty of improvement when making a successful nursery debut at Brighton last time when he had Beauld As Brass in second and Made Of Lir back in third. He is a half-brother to a couple of AW winners and can defy a 4lb rise. Made Of Lir has since won at Chelmsford so may give him most to do, while Phoenix Glow looks interesting back on Polytrack despite being drawn wider than ideal.

17:30 Paspaley

Primrose Ridge sets the standard back in novice company but she has to conclusively prove her stamina and could be vulnerable to improvers. Master Of Chant has claims if back to his debut form but PASPALEY may prove the answer back on AW.

18:00 Divine Libra

Of those with experience Blue Universe looks the pick but there are plenty of potential improvers on show. There are also some interesting newcomers, none more so than DIVINE LIBRA. Charles Hills’ colt has some useful winning siblings and he makes his debut in a winnable event.

PICK 5 SATURDAY WINNERS AND 100 GRAND COULD BE YOURS

18:30 Sunset Point

There is no doubt that Lady Dreamer is the pick of those with experience and she very nearly defied a high draw here last time, something she will need to try to do again. She is much respected but there are some fascinating newcomers up against her with Maremma, Rowayeh and Warren Hill to name but three. However, the one who makes most appeal is SUNSET POINT whose stable has such a fine record with 2yo newcomers. She looks the part on breeding, while her sire is 55-274 (20%) here in the past five years.

19:00 Coppice

Having been beaten only narrowly in her last two starts, Hey Lyla could take some catching if again attempting to make all from the inside stall and she has to be respected. There look to be fewer interesting newcomers than in the first division, but Peaceful Story, Whispering Dream and COPPICE each have something to recommend them. Preference is for the last-named who is beautifully bred, including being a sister to the stable’s Coventry Stakes winner Calyx.

19:30 Odisseo

Most of these have something to recommend them but ODISSEO was unfortunate not to gain his fifth AW win at Chelmsford last week and he still looks ahead of the handicapper. Intervention has had a fine year and can go well, while Castana Dia, Mount Athos and Dayman are others to consider.

20:00 Cairn Gorm

Another competitive handicap in which most of the 12 runners can have a case argued. Object, Aphelios, Beyond Equal and Tyger Bay (second choice) all figure prominently in calculations but perhaps this drop in class can see the well-treated CAIRN GORM take a step forward.

20:30 Bluebird (NAP)

Old rivals Jumira Bridge and Griggy are likely to play a part if matching their recent exploits, while Youllovemewheniwin could be given a solid chance on his narrow defeat off 10lb higher here in April. However, there are a few in here who could improve now making their handicap debut at a modest level including BLUEBIRD (nap), who is bred to be much better than he has shown so far, being from the family of the stable’s top sprinters The Tin Man and Deacon Blues.
