17:00 – Another Odyssey
Cavendish turned over a new leaf in first-time cheekpieces when romping away with a recent 1m6f handicap here but there are reservations about his overall consistency as well as the return to 1m4f. In any case he has more to do here with ANOTHER ODYSSEY also in cracking form and the latter is preferred. Foursome and Lightening Gesture look the most likely of the remainder to provide a threat.

17:30 – Kenstone
Crystal Dawn would have to go close if breaking better than she did when a close third over C&D seven days ago, but KENSTONE is just given the nod having dropped back to the same mark as when gaining his second C&D success back in January. Ebury was by no means disgraced at Southwell last time and looks to have dropped to a mark he can prove competitive from.

18:00 – So Savy
Brazen Diamond has more solid claims than most but it may be worth giving another chance to SO SAVVY who couldn’t justify favouritism on his debut for this yard at Chelmsford but nevertheless ran a fair race and the extra furlong should be within his scope. Maahi Ve is preferred of the remainder.
18:30 – Manhattanville
Most of these have something to prove on one count or another but dual AW winner MANHATTANVILLE has finished placed over C&D in his last two runs and may well be able to get back on the scoresheet in new headgear. The main threat could come from Boafo Boy, who still has potential and looks interesting back up in trip on his first run after a gelding operation.
19:00 – The Thames Boatman
Preference is for THE THAMES BOATMAN, who has a progressive three-race profile and ran really well at a big price in a big-field sales race at Newmarket last time. He sets the standard back in much calmer waters and gets the vote ahead on his return to Tapeta. Clipsham La Habana made a promising start with his third on Polyrack last month and he’s feared most, ahead of Kempton nursery winner Gumais. Another to keep an eye on is Archie Watson’s newcomer Colors Of Freedom.
19:30 – Auntie Margaret
This looks a bit trappy but the vote goes to the Johnstons’ three-year-old AUNTIE MARGARET, who came good with a front-running win at Leicester last month and backed that up with a creditable second over 1m6f at Nottingham last time. C&D winner Lexington Knight is feared most on his drop back in trip, although Sir Mark Prescott’s Genesius could make a big impact if he gets a good pace and some luck. Eloso and Appier also enter the reckoning, while the handicap newcomer Ravenswing needs checking in the market.
20:00 – Kensington
Hamilton debut winner Good Show wasn’t disgraced in a Group 3 at Ascot last time and he’s strongly respected back in much calmer waters. Treble Joy has recorded RPRs in the 80s in his last three runs and he’s another key player, but the one that appeals most is the Gosdens’ well-bred filly KENSINGTON. She built on her promising debut when a clear second behind a useful stablemate at Kempton 12 days ago and is open to more progress on this step up to 1m4f.
20:30 – Alwajd
Top of the list is the Ian Williams-trained ALWAJD (nap), who made it 2-4 in cheekpieces when scoring in cosy fashion at Chelmsford last month. Lethal Touch was a clear second behind the selection in that race and he’s feared most, ahead of He’s So Brazen, who is still lightly raced and looks interesting if he can build on his runner-up effort here two weeks ago. Others with each-way claims are Quoteline Direct and Defilade.
