This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and it could be the day that WE’RENOTREALLYHERE belatedly opens his account. He has had plenty of attempts but the level of form he has achieved stands out in this field and he will hopefully be ridden prominently which is often a positive round here. However, market support for newcomers Taj Neom or Captain Dandy would need to be viewed positively.

13:30 – Coverdale
There are a host of likely improvers in opposition in this big-field nursery but the vote goes in favour of COVERDALE, who not for the first time showed promise, not least with a view to stepping up in trip, when third over seven furlongs at Redcar 26 days ago. He rates a big player now handicapping and can prove too strong for facile Ripon scorer Vondelpark, who has deservedly been hit with a big rise in the weights.
14:00 – Local Dynasty
LOCAL DYNASTY looked potentially useful when making a winning debut at Newmarket in August and he wasn’t disgraced in the Acomb Stakes on his next start. That form looks better now than it did at the time and he quickly resumed winning ways in authoritative fashion at Sandown last time. He is more than capable of making his mark in listed company and there should be even more to come from him. Sirona arrives on the back of success in a German listed event and is feared most.
14:35 – Vino Victrix
VINO VICTRIX arrives firmly at the top of his game, successful at Goodwood prior to a fine second in the Cesarewitch nine days ago where he was beaten only by one well ahead of his mark. He is clearly well suited by this trip and is fancied to resume winning ways provided this doesn’t come too quickly. Morando and Wise Eagle area couple of others to consider, whilst course winner and smart hurdler Indefatigable may well have more to offer in this sphere.
15:10 – Poker Face
Impressed in landing each of his two starts in maiden and novice company over a mile in recent weeks and, with the prospect of even more to come now handicapping up in trip, POKER FACE can make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick. Reach looks a very shrewd purchase judged on her facile maiden victory over further here at this course two weeks ago and rates the biggest threat, while Regal Mirage and Jean Baptiste also make each-way appeal in an open race.
15:45 – Rich Rhythm
RICH RHYTHM was easy to back but took a small step forward when opening his account at Windsor from a next-time-out winner and he wasn’t seen to best effect on handicap debut at Kempton last time. That was a competitive enough race and he wasn’t best positioned, but the ground he made up in the straight suggests he is up to winning more races from this sort of mark, and he recorded a fast closing sectional in the process. Still lightly raced, he makes a fair bit of appeal back on turf breaking from a good draw in stall 4. Rhythm, who won at Newcastle recently, looks an obvious danger able to race from the same mark.

16:20 – Magical Effect
A winner at Catterick in September, MAGICAL EFFECT has gone agonisingly close to adding to his tally on each of his last two starts over course and distance and, with the prospect of a decent pace to aim at, Ruth Carr’s veteran could well be worth siding with to come out on top again under Jason Hart. This is wide open, however, with low-mileage three-year-old Close Quarters and Nearly A Gonna a couple of likely threats.
16:55 – Thornaby Pearl
There are plenty are in with a shout, but THORNABY PEARL got right back on track in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up at Doncaster last time, and with the winner having scored again since he is taken to capitalise now from the same mark. Another Investment wasn’t seen to best effect when seventh at Haydock on his latest start and is next on the list having been eased 1 lb in the weights.
