13:40 – Age Of Sail
AGE OF SAIL has a smart Flat pedigree but only reached a fairly useful level in that sphere, though he could rate higher over hurdles judged by his debut at Chepstow last week. He was well backed with a tongue tie fitted and showed plenty to work on behind another promising sort. There is room for improvement in his jumping but sets a good level of form and is expected to put that experience to good use. Trojan Horse and Admiralty House make most appeal of the debutants.

14:15 – Hasty Parisian
The ones with experience don’t set the bar too high in this novices’ handicap chase so it may be worth siding with one of the debutants and it is the Milton Harris-trained HASTY PARISIAN. He ran a cracker when fourth in a competitive handicap at Sandown when last seen in March and he gets a nice weight-for-age allowance here, so is worth chancing to take to this discipline. Coal Stock sets the standard on form and may prove the danger.
14:50 – Teddy Blue
This is essentially a match between TEDDY BLUE and Boombawn and strong preference is for the former who was thought good enough to contest the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. He failed to fire on that occasion, but the form of his second in the Adonis over this course and distance is stand out and he should have more to offer this season.
15:25 – Romanor
This looks an open handicap chase but ROMANOR arrives right at the top of his game and looks the one to focus on. He has won three of his last five starts, his last two by 15 and 12 lengths respectively, and his latest success proved he is an improved performer since having a breathing operation. A subsequent 7 lb rise has forced him into a better race now but he is a chaser on the up and there is plenty to like about his chances. Slate House scored twice over course and distance back in the spring so he heads up the dangers provided he’s over whatever was ailing him at Plumpton five months ago.
16:00 – Sceau Royal
SCEAU ROYAL is a 10-year-old but he has much the best form on offer in this listed event and he can repeat his success in this race 12 months ago. He went on to win the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton afterwards and closed last season with some creditable efforts over fences. His record when fresh is excellent and he will surely be primed for his return. See The Sea comes here in excellent order and is fancied to chase home the selection.

16:35 – Jemima P
JEMIMA P hasn’t run over hurdles for over two years but she has won her last three starts over fences, having a fair bit in hand from a BHA mark of 132 when last seen 13 months ago. She showed that improvement after undergoing wind surgery and she looks the one to beat on her return to action for a yard that are among the winners. Ben Pauling has his string in excellent nick so his winning Irish pointer Rock On Cowboy is feared most on his Rules debut.
17:10 – Go On Chez
This looks a good opportunity for GO ON CHEZ to resume winning ways. He won his first five starts in this sphere, but seemingly found the longer trip stretching him at Uttoxeter, and he would have pushed the winner close if not making an uncharacteristic mistake at Bangor last time. The handicapper has dropped him 1 lb since and he is fully expected to get back on the up. If Minella Buster is primed for his first outing since March then this former point winner could be the one to give the selection most to think about on chase debut.
