Horse Racing Tips: Timeform’s best bets for Saturday at Catterick

13:35 – YOUNG AND FUN

This looks very open but preference is for YOUNG AND FUN, who took a significant step forward from her debut at Chelmsford just over a fortnight ago when finding only an above-average sort too strong. There should be even more to come from her and she can make it third time lucky. Flight of Angels made a promising start when just half a length behind the selection so she’s feared most with that run under her belt.

14:10 – PINK PARFAIT

This isn’t much of a race and it might pay to side with PINK PARFAIT, who had a bit to spare when opening her account at Newcastle last time. She sweated up beforehand but had clearly learnt plenty from her debut and can defy a penalty with even more improvement on the cards. Gracelands Girl will be a danger if back on song and Glory And Gold is well worthy of consideration having shaped well at Lingfield last time.

PICK 5 SATURDAY WINNERS AND 100 GRAND COULD BE YOURS

14:45 – QUEEN’S SARGENT

QUEEN’S SARGENT arrives here on the back of a string of low-key performances, but that was also the case ahead of his victory in this race off a 6 lb higher mark last season, and this seven-year-old may well bounce back returned to this course. Having caught the eye on the all-weather a fortnight ago, Papa Cocktail makes each-way appeal on just his third start for this yard, while Pocket The Profit ran too bad to be true at Ascot last time and is the type to quickly bounce back.

15:15 – CHIPSTEAD

CHIPSTEAD is a brother to top sprinter Oxted and is ending the season on an upward curve, doing well to get up in the Portland at Doncaster last time while leaving the impression he hasn’t done progressing just yet. He makes a fair bit of appeal to complete a hat-trick from a 5 lb higher mark with stall 14 unlikely to hinder him (runners often come stands’ side in such conditions). Vintage Clarets ran a cracker at York earlier this month and he looks the main threat, although the well-treated Count d’Orsay has been showing encouraging signs of late, too.

15:50 – MOTAWAAZY

MOTAWAAZY’s win over course and distance in April came after 198 days off so his absence since then isn’t too big a concern and he can also boast a great course record (four-time winner here). Furthermore, his strike rate is really hard to argue with and he is expected to notch another success now for a yard among the winners.. Recent Pontefract scorer Roundhay Park and Roger Fell’s Admirality head the dangers in this veterans’ event.

16:25 – THE NU FORM WAY

The vote goes to THE NU FORM WAY, who wasn’t discredited in a competitive event at Haydock last time and the forecast slow ground is a welcome tonic for Stella Barclay’s charge. He remains on a fair mark and this test looks a little easier If the going is soft, the otherwise appealing Arrange will have a bit to prove but conditions won’t be an issue for Detective and he is second choice on the back of a decent effort over an inadequate trip last time.

17:00 – REAL TERMS

REAL TERMS showed a good attitude when making it three wins from five starts this year over a mile and a half at this course, making good headway in the straight and fighting back well when tackled inside the final furlong. The return to a longer trip will suit now and she can win again following a 3 lb rise in the weights. Flamborough and Choirmaster are expected to pose the biggest threat.
