The Racing Post tipster fancies Shetland Bus at 14:05.

13:30 – SOPHOSC

A market check is advised with regard to French import Kadex and any support for him should be noted. Cawthorne Lad ran well back over hurdles last time and is respected for the stable that took this two years ago, but preference is for SOPHOSC who comes into this 2-2 over hurdles and may have more to offer now handicapping. He stays well on the Flat, so the longer trip should be no issue.

14:05 – SHETLAND BUS

The prolific pair Kap Auteuil and Tommie Beau return from lengthy absences, but both are proven fresh and the latter is particularly worthy of respect given his record of 3-3 at Fakenham. However, the vote goes to SHETLAND BUS (nap) who avoids a penalty for his recent Stratford success. He will be 5lb higher in future and the stable won this last year.

14:40 – MATATA

here isn’t a rock-solid candidate here but MATATA was successful in his only point and could prove up to making a winning rules debut if coping with this shorter trip. East End Girl, fairly useful on the Flat and from a yard with a fine record at Fakenham, is feared the most, while Rock Legend and Ultimate Fame at least have the benefit of plenty of hurdling experience.

15:15 – BELLS OF STAMFORD

Anger Management has taken well to hurdling and is respected with a hefty weight-for-age allowance, while Sparkling Dawn (second choice) is having only her second outing for Laura Morgan and hasn’t had much racing considering her age. However, the unexposed BELLS OF STAMFORD is first on the list, with more improvement on the cards following his cosy win at Ayr in the spring.

15:50 – Haliphon

Having won a point and shown ability in bumpers, El Muchacho has to be respected especially as his breeding suggests he could make the grade as a hurdler, but preference is for HALIPHON. Ian Williams’ gelding is a useful stayer on the Flat and if he takes to this game he should be hard to beat.

16:25 – OCEANS RED

Three of the five runners are returning from absences with Bobmahley possibly the pick having gone well fresh before, while the form of his latest effort is working out well. However, it’s hard to get away from recent emphatic Sedgefield winner OCEANS RED, who has been put up by the same amount as his penalty and whose race-fitness isn’t in doubt.

FRIDAY’S FAKENHAM TIPS:

13:30 – SOPHOSC
14:05 – SHETLAND BUS (nap)
14:40 – MATATA
15:15 – BELLS OF STAMFORD
