It’s difficult to have too much confidence in Trueshan after his last run. I could be made a fool but I’m willing to take him on. Waterville could go well after winning the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh last month but this step up might be too much. I like Eldar Eldarov, who won the Queen’s Vase at the Royal meeting and the St Leger at Doncaster last time out and the form has been held up.

14:00 – Garrus (each-way)
You can see why Creative Force and Rohaan are at the top of the market but at the prices, I’ll take a swing at Garrus. He’s not got the most consistent record but his last run was a career best. He finished behind Highfield Princess and Minzaal, while Rohaan was behind in fourth. He hasn’t run since, he’s drawn in stall seven and he should get a tow into the race. He’s a big each-way price.

14:40 – Rosscarbery (each-way)
If Emily Upjohn is back to the form she showed earlier in the year, she’s got a massive chance. However, she’s been off for a while now. I’m taking a chance on Rosscarbery. Paddy Twomey is running a 30 per cent strike rate this season in Ireland. She ran well in the Irish St. Leger behind Kyprios, Hamish and Search For A Song. If it’s ran at a pace, she has a good each-way chance.
15:20 – Modern Games
Modern Games has brilliant form over 1m and his only defeat was in the Sussex Stakes against Baaeed. He was a wide margin winner of the Woodbine Mile last time out too. His form is every bit as strong as Inspiral’s and the gap in price between them is too big.
16:00 – Betting Without Baaeed & Adayar – My Prospero
My Prospero beat Thesis earlier this year at Newbury before beating Reach For The Moon at Sandown. He was then unlucky not to win the St James’ Palace Stakes and he won at Saint-Cloud last time out. There’s a bit substance in his form and he’s an improving type. He can be ridden to pick up the pieces in the ‘Betting Without’ Baaeed and Adayar. I can see him finishing third behind the two.

16:40 – Bashkirova
I’m going to take a chance on Bashkirova for William Haggas. She comfortably landed a Group 3 at the Epsom Derby meeting but she found Group 2 company a little too much at Ascot after that. She had a break and came back at York in August, where she finished sixth. It’s a wide open race and she isn’t majorly exposed.
